AC6 is more of a classic experience, while DXM is more modern, despite being older game.
If you like mecha, you want both.
in all but graphics
Played Daemon X Machina on the Switch, planning to buy it on STEAM since it incorporates cross-saves (Damn, Epic Game Store gave DxM for free)
The turn down of DxM is basically its singleplayer story, especially if you're mostly an offline player than online. It literally has no sense of direction and the characters were forgettable. I redid the story 4 times trying to understand the plot, but in the end I relied on a reddit post to explain the story
On the other hand, the customization (in terms of design) is quite inadequate than Armored Core 6 but Mech Customization is all the same. I do LOVE its Online Features such as co-op and exploration missions. (PvP is hard on the Switch xP)
I love AC6 and DxM respectively, since they both capture the essence of "Mecha" and cant wait for the upcoming Daemon X Machina 2 Titanic Scion which I HOPEFULLY believe the Devs learned from their mistakes with the previous title
Edit: I would also like to add Daemon X Machina's amazing Cel Shading aesthetic, and running on Unreal Engine makes it look beautiful
Though the Switch version of DxM is locked to 30 FPS, the PC version however allows you to reach 200+ FPS !!
I really liked my high storage clone build, being able to summon a doppleganger that can and will use not just guns/melee but also healing weapons is wonderful for build diversity. Can do a lot more as far as interesting builds in it compared to AC6 though you won't have the interesting Leg mechanics. Movement is just good at flying, or good on the ground. Boost or passive. Does have dedicated full arm weapons though which are typically busted but can't weapon swap and have some strict ammo requirements.
Parts are also both destroyable and replaceable mid mission. Gun arm out of ammo? It'd be a shame if it I replaced it with your arm instead! Then I'll take your sword and get chopping! Swapping weapons, legs, even your torso and head mid mission is pretty cool. Can also hop out of the mech and tink the last hitpoints off a boss that killed you with a side arm and grenades which I have done.
Discounting MechWarrrior 4 Mercenaries though since that's more of a simulator game.
