BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH GANK SITUATIONS??
As the title says, how tf are you supposed to deal with hardcore ganks?!? I've finished the game a couple times already but one thing I just haven't gotten good at yet is dealing with multiple AC's at a time.

Take the mission "Defend the Damn Complex" for example, where you start off fighting 2 AC's only for another to join the fight part of the way through as well. How am I supposed to telegraph each of their attacks? Do I just focus on building an overpowered mech that can deal with them quickly? Or am I supposed to get good and dodge through the majority of their attacks? Cause at times that doesn't even feel possible to do with the amount of attacks happening at once and the limited energy your mech has.

I have already finished the mission, I'm more just trying to get an idea of what I should be doing in situations where I am constantly being brute forced by multiple mechs at a time.

Any help is appreciated :D

Thanks !!

"defend the damn complex" made me laugh, thanks OP.

Also divide and conquer. Don't fight two dudes at once, fight one dude while staying the hell away from the other. Or, when you're in a fight with a buddy, help your buddy wreck their target quickly so you have an advantage.

The AI is good at dodging and ♥♥♥♥ but doesn't actually have any strategic capacity whatsoever.

Usually you want to try to split the pair up, or line-of-sight one of them in order to try to either burst or chunk the other. Do not spread your fire, focus one down hard. You do not want to be dancing around dodging two enemy AC's fire, or using Area of Effect. Usually there's environmental things you can use. For example, you can try to lure one of the Redguns to that tetrapod hanging out above where the second generator was. Or you could lure Carla behind one of the pillars and below Chatty to spare yourself the missile bombardment for a few seconds.

I just go off listening to the warning beeps and always being as mobile as I can.
Can't dodge them all, but that has gotten me through every situation like that.
You hear warning beep, you dodge, no questions asked.
And yeah, need to huuh... Focus one down, always, reduce incoming damage as much as you can.

The only method that reliably worked for me is burst down one as fast as possible. So I guess this falls into the 'building and overpowered mech' method.

It's sort of a scripted event. Where you get the last 1 of the 2 down to a certain % of AP left then Nightfall starts to arrive. My advice is start with Chartreuse first, she's the most dangerous of the 2 and you can sorta separate them if you jump down to the lower area.

King's only saving grace is his triple laser cannon which you can avoid. It does take some time before Nightfall arrives so as long as you isolate 1v1s you should be okay.

Dual Zim's, Needle. Kill them before the fight even starts.

Concentrate your efforts on one AC at a time and try to kill quickly.

That's basically it.

Delete one AC as fast as possible with whichever of the silly combos takes your fancy.

I try to kill one of them as fast as i can then focus the other, once raven arrives i fall back to a place nearer where we started, there there is some MT none of the AC touched with long range cannons and missiles, so long as you keep raven on yourself they will help you out with pressure, turn the numbers game against him.

Personally I always just pick one assault boost at one kick it unload then assault armor and its usually dead. Been playing with x2 etsujin machineguns and x2 6x missles on the super lightweight biped after the patch since they buffed the little machineguns and they shred stuff now.

In Defend the Dam Complex
I recommend kill Ox first (if that the heavy AC), bring it down the dam in front of you, then keep pressing it against the wall, regardless of how tanky and how many time it repair, it will soak up the damage fast and will die before the other two come to help, hell if you fast enough, it will be a 1v1 the entire mission

The existence of the stagger system means that trying to whittle down multiple strong foes at once is even less effective than it would otherwise be. With multi-boss fights, you should definitely focus on taking one down quickly to reduce the amount of incoming fire you need to weave through. The same general though process applies if it's a situation with a boss and multiple weaker foes, like Michigan and the Red Guns - less enemies means less things to worry about dodging, so it can be worth it to find a build that can allow you to quickly and efficiently prune through all the MTs (I found laser rifles tuned with a generator that allows you to one shot them effective when paired with reverse joints for increased mobility) while keeping your distance from the heavy hitters.

oops, didnt even realise my mistake until now hahaha. thanks for your reply though I certainly think trying to split them up would be a better way of dealing with multiple opponents.

As usual, Iguazu is the biggest baby.

You can't guarantee luring people away from eachother.

Also, AI gets more prone to input read and dodge cancel the higher their stagger is. tank AC when betraying the red guns at the dam goes from "Look at this idiot basically letting me shoot him" to "As fast as a final boss" once the stagger gets up there.

This is also why "Just listen to the red warning beeps idiot!" advice gets you killed. Enemy can just cancel their red flash attacks when they feel like it if you dodge to well instead of at the last moment like a reckless nutcase, or when you have a quickdraw that could punish them.

When they cancel their red flash attack, it does not put it on cooldown. So they get to try again any time they want, even a second later.

Also, weak baby x6 basic missiles (the slightly bigger version of the free starter missiles) is super fast at actually hitting fleeing AC like chatty regularly. It will never do the most damage. but it is FAST FAST FAST if you end up in a long range standoff with less than 2,000 AP left and no healing kits.

It is so very, very frustrating that the 100 EN and 114(116?) less ♥♥♥♥ at having normal generator stats ones, deal 95% and 99% damage to an MT (even the training room ones with their AI turned off) with the basic laser rifle, and you need one of the two super ultimate biggest ones to be able to one shot the second weakest mech in the game (weakest being the micro walkers).

Much more robust difference with big lasers. But I hate "enemy you fight a dozen(s) of only ALMOST died! This isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, because using the literal most powerful ultimate mega buffs will finally let you one shot fodder" so much in games.
