That's a pretty basic line of logic you're missing there.
Theres milions of gamers that loves mechs ,and they also deserve top tier game in this genre, especially og AC fans.
And don't worry in the same time they work on Elden Ring dlc, and maybe even on whole new title.
And 1-2 OKish, like Surge and Lord of the Fallen (arguably since they are light on builds and gameplay gets stale quickly). Other ones either lack builds, souls losing on death or dressing up your dude in a visible drip part.
There are more than 3 good mech games on steam:
94% positive reviews, 1 % off universal acclaim

83% positive, might get repetitive, but rather immersive
https://store.steampowered.com/app/784080/MechWarrior_5_Mercenaries/
81% positive, but it lets you design your own mechs, guaranteed hits too
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1389360/Mech_Armada/
78% positive, another strategy letting you design mechs

Likely you don't even know that Armored Core series was the flagship title for From Software, as it is was Final Fantasy (and still is) for Square-Enix. Thanks to its success, the company could space on souls like games.
3 of them are turn based tactics games (though Phantom Brigade is a hybrid) and Mechwarrior is a different flavor of Mech (more slow and Tank-like).
You've listed more "Games with mechs in them" than "Mech games".
Daemon x Machina is the only particularly noteworthy game in the similar vein to AC on Steam, though there's also M.A.S.S Builder (which is a little more Gundam flavored and arcade-y) and...that's about it.
There are more games that mechanically are similar to the Souls series than AC by a wide margin, hell IronPineapple is STILL going through games to this day in his series on Youtube and there's far more similar games than there are dissimilar ones too.
Personally, I'd like to see a joint venture with Gundam franchise and From Software in the future for a title at least.
Thats why im really hyped for fast paced combat in AC6.
I watched his videos for a little bit, but as I said they almost always lack some parts. For me soulslike should include:
1)United currency for everything, including levelling up, that is completely lost on death
2)Levelups with free point allocation allowing for diverse variety of builds with signifficant difference mechanically in gameplay
3)Dressing up your hero in a wide variety of equipment with visual presentation (Fashion souls)
4)Being difficult enough that you can't just LMB everything (include dodge at least)
Only the presentation is bad. Couldnt they afford to use more then 2 colors ?
Its not as if additional colors cost that much more hardware performance.
I really dont get it. Is this supposed to be some sort of unique art style where you are only allowed to use 2 colors at the same time ? I get that this is in some postapocalyptic setting, but rust and metal can have many colorations and layers of paint on it. And ruins can be overgrown.
It's a factor, yes, but much like the factors you posited in regards to the other "souls-like" games discussed via IronPineapple, none of those games tick the same boxes Armored Core's actual gameplay, just a piece of the framework.
This is like saying to somebody "Go play this Shoot-em-up if you want a new Armored Core game, it has customization of mechs in it so it is basically the same thing right?" which is totally missing the point.
definition, isn't it? I took it that if game has mechs as central characters then it is a mech game. I didn't include Serious Sam 4 with popemobile because central theme is not mechs.
You might feel disappointed but don't knock it till you try it
