Which missiles are actually worth using?
Siege missiles are not what I expected from the name but seem useful.

Container missiles seem like they have good potential in terms of actually hitting the target but they seemed underwhelming in performance and I'm not sure why exactly.

Homing missiles just don't do much damage.

Cluster missiles are weird as hell. Basically shoots out a little plane that drops bombs on the enemy's head. I suppose that could be good for a big slow boss?

Plasma missiles seem to be surprisingly good in terms of building up stagger but otherwise I'm not sure I understand the purpose.

Needle missiles, from what I've seen in videos, hit almost instantly but I can't see why you'd take that over something like the stun needle cannon.

Same problem applies to most things. Are any missiles actually worth using compared to the more obvious alternatives like gatlings, shotguns, and the stun needles?

There are a crazy number of other missile launchers all firing various amounts of shots at various rates. So far I haven't really found anything that seems all that good.

As for the SOUP I can't see what the fuss is about.

What am I missing?

Siege missles are there for your cheesiest garenteed hit without a blocking obstactle. Able to spin even the tighest circles repeatedly, I don't think it's even possible for anything to dodge them.

Vertical launch and hammerhead shark head can be hilariously effective if you feel like a no hit run. Able to fire right over apartment buildings and sky scrapers without needing any form of line of sight by locking on through walls.

Soup is a great generalist that comes in two angles to increase hit likelihood and track quite well with swift lockon. Great if not flashy.

The basic starter missles and their offshoots are legit, low cost solid workhorses that are highly effective and don't require a missle fcs either just adding to workhorse versatility. Shockingly good weapons and usually a go to on very minimalist boss stomper builds.

Homings add good pressure and solid for boss fights.

Never really used plasma much.

They track very well, their full salvos do the same as the 9 chain missiles with half the ammo expenditure, they recharge quick, and they almost never miss due to their mini-AoEs. They do equally well against single targets, and better than any other missile against groups.
Cogs and springs, I used those vertical-launch plasma missiles with the harris rifles on a nice, speedy reverse-joint when fighting pre-patch Ibis the second time. Lightweight, AoE, vicious amounts of pressure while staying on the move plinking away with the harrises; they were great.
I like the vertical plasmas best since they tend to hit better from close range.

The basic 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12-cell missiles and the hand-held basic ones are p much the best. Everything else starts adding weight or EN load but essentially no added effect. None of the other types track better (verticals are nice but not worth the trade-off since you neither need nor want verticals all the time) and plasma verticals, while good, are garbo dps for single targets. All the gimmick shoulder-launchers are just that, gimmicks. Might be great in one situation, but junk in most.
