I've TRIED getting good at this game, but I honest to God CAN'T.
It gets tiring to fight bosses LEVEL after LEVEL after LEVEL after LEVEL, constantly having bosses thrown at me over and over and over, I'm NOT skillful enough for this, I'm NOT smart enough for this, I just can't, I got filtered, simple as.
Believe in the me that believes in you!!
Seriously, take a break and come back later.
If your skill on the field leaves to be desired, improve your skill in the garage.
I was using a Biped, assault rifle on the right hand, blade on the left, Songbird on the left shoulder, 8 missile launcher on the right shoulder.
I think the fact this IS NOT a "filter class" boss just proves my point that I CAN'T BEAT THIS GAME.
Defend the Old Spaceport is the mission where you fight Nightfall.

1.) Double Zimmermann shotguns
2.) Double BML-G2/PO5MLT-10 Rocket launchers on shoulders.
3.) Tetrapod legs.
4.) Medium to tanky core/head/arms. Pick some from Balam like Melander series. Whatever you got should work.
5.) That's it. Rocket launchers have very good tracking, stagger and damage. Zimmermanns are completely overtuned and eat health bars for breakfast.
The strategy is also simple. Lock on and keep fairly close. stagger your rocket salvos, hammer the shotgun triggers. Once you break his ACS, assault burst in and kick. All the while firing from all cannons. Don't forget your core expansion. Assault armor gives a chunky boost to your damage potential, or pick the barrier for more survivability.
I doubt you got the small stun guns yet? The electrified dart pistols with double needle launcher on top also melts most enemies, hehe. DPS-checked the final-final-final boss with that one.
edit: On the point of you not having the patience for bosses. I just tried to find the most broken builds on which I could fall back on in case I got frustrated. Cheesed my way through anything that bothered me and then started experimenting with more complex builds.
Other options include going even higher on mobility/boost speed to work around Nightfall's Assault Rifle rounds, using a high melee-thrust and shotgun combination to try to surprise-stagger them and force a repair kit, or going tetrapod and kiting them with Linear Rifles and missiles.
You'll get through it, just need to likely adjust your playstyle or parts to work around it. You could also try to put on Assault Armor in case you're fearful of getting stagger-bunkered and mash it out to hopefully stun Nightfall before the Bunker connects. Terminal Armor might help you learn the boss and get a last-chance, but Assault Armor will more than likely open an AC up for a kill.
