Do I have to respec my OS every time I load a different AC?
Or am I missing something? Game literally says that in order to load one of my older builds I need to get a different core expansion. I thought the OS upgrades are saved too. Isn't the main purpose of build/design saving option to let players load different ACs without some additional BS?

Please tell me there is an actual solution because there has to be, I don't believe Fromsoft would do ♥♥♥♥ like that in a game about changing builds left and right.

Save the build without an expansion.

I don't think there is and it sucks.... Unless I'm missing something.

There 'is' a solution I think. Unlock all of the OS core expansion upgrades. That stuff get's saved with the AC it's on If I remember rightly.

If you have all the core expansions, then you should be able to freely load them at will?

I was actually thinking about that solution, but first, its kind of a waste of points. And 2nd, If my current build is energy only, then I will still have to respec If the other build is purely explosive and kinetic. So that doesnt change anything really after all

I was wondering about this too but the answer is that you eventually get enough points to unlock everything so it is a nonissue.

Thankfully unlike my turbo grinding every S rank for 100% completion in the AC 4 era for tune point scraps. AC6 will give you the rest of the chips you need to max out the OS tree in the middle of NG+ (first NG+, ++ has the last three final arena bosses with equipment drops you need to beat before the final boss or they take them away temporarily).

I would suggest just ignoring tryhard tears and favoring repair kits, stability, and direct hit damage over the weapon type damage buffs your first time through.

While the raw damage buffs can help large damage weapons, it will not help smaller weapons.

For example. The huge double barrel laser rifle with a 100 en weapon damage generator almost, but not quite, two-shots mid grade almost fodder PCA mechhs. Once you increase energy OS the super huge laser two shots them.

But with 100% OS unlocked, the basic laser rifle can't quite one shot the training room weak MT. not even with the 116 EN damage generator, leaves a sliver of health. You need the top two most EN weapon damage in exchange for the worse power stats or weight ones to do that.

Exception made for melee OS as that is only three ranks, and all melee is strong (do NOT underestimate melee damage penalties on arms though. 100% OS won't stop laser dagger from being unable to one hit knock away physical shields if you have arms with only 80 or less melee in exchange for good recoil).

All that is why I favored the direct hit + for the first NG run, along with the fact that works for every weapon type.

Ohhh good to know. NG+ is going fairly smooth so far with all the knowledge of enemies and levels so I guess I'll try to get there asap.

Didn't even know about this stat, now I gotta check my arms. -.- (edit: I guess thats the melee specialization, I thought there is another stat I missed somewhere since I didnt use melee in my NG)
Thx for the response

There are many arms with both good gun control (aim crosshair in first place assist) and melee.

There are no arms with both good recoil and good melee.

Recoil is a misleading stat because even a tight crosshair can have shot variance, or fire off from a cold start. The longer distance your shot, the more it hurts when you get that 1 shot out of 5 that is slightly off. You probably won't notice that cause for some misses unless you look for it on anything but full auto weapons or rapid fire lasers/rifles.

So if you like bazookas, this is a cause for why your shot zips past the head of a staggered or stationary target sometimes. Perfectly accurate with a 80-90 recoil arm until suddenly it isn't.

You need the parts/access to parts including the OS upgrades to load a build. Don't worry much about points, you unlock them all once you get done with arena.

Basho arms are built for hugs and cockpit crushing. :ac6_heart:

At the end of the game, you will have all the OS upgrades unlocked anyway.

Also, you really aren't supposed to be completely changing everything every time. Just making minor changes as needed. If you are low on OS points, then make generalized purchases instead, ones that will benefit every build, like damage reduction, repair kit upgrades, direct damage boosts, etc.

It only does that if you reset your OS Tuning and don't have the upgrade unlocked anymore. It would be like if you sold a part back to the Shop and tried to Load an AC that had said part equipped. Same deal. The game isn't going to give you back the part you sold for free.

Sure you are. That's why it's so easy and so cheap. If you change loadout and don't bring any energy weapons on a mission of course you'd reset and re-tune those points to something else. No reason to go in with an incorrectly tuned AC.

Sadly it doesn't have this feature.
It should have that Option, would make switching build for challenge run much easier.

It should be added.
