Which makes the game too easy. Don't do that if you want to learn to do better in the game. Too much of a crutch. I overused them so much. Stopped using them now. Just makes bosses too easy.
Maybe do it on the first playthrough. But after that try out all the other gear.
I wouldn't call it slow though. They fire almost instantly, reload in 5 seconds and seem to have faster projectile speed VS most of the explosive weapons.
I prefer the back mounted plasma cannon now though. Similar stats and doesn't need to reload after every shot.
The needles are so good it's called cheese. You don't need to use songbirds anymore after you get the needles. They are heavier but better in every way.
Don't let anyone tell you that the only "real way" to play this game is making it harder on yourself. Armored Core has always had unbalanced weapons. Some are great, some have no use whatsoever, like the bomb dispenser. You can choose to use objectively substandard gear if you want but save that for NG+. If you just want to get to the end at least one time, throw on the needles.
The needles are kinetic. The electrical AoE doesn't correspond to any of the tunable damage types.
My initial problem is that they don't fire immediately after pressing the button, that small delay was throwing me off.
Also, why would this be bait?
Alternatively, don't let people like this tell you you need specific gear to get to the end. You don't. I never liked the needles myself, and it's genuinely because I think they're overrated.
If the needles feel good to you, use them, otherwise, don't, but yeah, they are generally recognized as being a bit of crutch, and I'm part of team "it feels good to learn to play without things like this" myself. Using things like this makes it difficult to play anything else. It's less about elitism and more about genuine concern for your enjoyment of the game. ^^''
I probably think the needles are overrated because I actually learned to play, now that I think about it. :D
