I lost it at Ayre
The ayre fight no doubt if you're an absolute god at the game and have a lot of time an patience yea sure you can clap (maybe) her with any build (probably).

As you can tell i stared to lack those when fighting her as I want to sleep and start new game plus to get more stuff. Her phase one was great but when she transition to full on dragon ball main character mode in phase two is when she broke me.

'♥♥♥♥ it. I will finally use the mf zimmermans and be a meta pleb because i have no time and patience for this rn. I got university and I want to get armored ore out of the way.' is what I literally told myself. Does she have a pattern to phase 2? Hell yes. Can I understand anything going on? HELL NO.

I have no doubt as I said b4 that if you have the all the time and patience in the world that you can beat her with any build but as I said I just had a f*ck it moment. Still a damn good game tho and cant wait to play through NG+.

Don't think I've tried the Pile Bunker on her yet, I feel like she'd recover too fast for my slow ass, but I could try.
Do not stun/break her shield by stun needle.

I'm saying Ibis is RNG because it can go minutes just firing missiles and never dashing or doing the cross slash attack in some runs and in other runs has no issue doing it. If you get caught in the former you either strafe around it hoping the AI does something different or you try to break the pattern by doing something (it might default back to just spamming missiles).

Other times you'll get a stagger punish and right when it recovers it spams melee combos 3-4 times in a row. Other times it flies away and does the indicator charge shot (what you hope for).

I've killed Ibis like 20 times now all with the same strat and the variance of the AI behavior is pretty large. That's why I am saying it feels pretty RNG. Yeah it input reads but when you do the same inputs in certain interactions and it does wildly different things that will either kill you, turtle out, or whatever, it makes it pretty difficult going into the fight trying to learn it when it does things kind of randomly.
Input reading. Ibis behaviour depends on what you are pressing.
If an enemy uses X move and I respond to that move the same way every time and they react different to my response, the same response I've used consistently in the same way, then it is a behavior not entirely concerned with input reading because the result is acting with a variance outside of the constants.

My point is that this is the case with Ibis. Repeating "input reading" doesn't change that.

Anti-Ice Worm launchers work wonders.

gotta be honest, compared to cel 240, ayre was a cake walk, beat her after 2 tries.

Yep. Same for me. I fought Cel about 20 times. So Ayre I lost once or twice too then beat.

She's got some good moves. But she's a glass cannon. The devs were going with pacing of her speeches matching the fight. It's not the hardest fight, but it's setting in the tone very well.

If it had lasted longer then it could lead to drawn out fighting and what Ayre says doesn't sound quite as right. It's intended to be a "desperate struggle". Faster. Where she's thowing everything at the player. Which she does. It even makes sense from a difficult standpoint once you get used to fighting her well. She's not meant to be the best fighter. She's got heart and soul but her desperation is what throws her off.

Same goes for Iguazu. If you think about it we never get a final boss that can actually remain focused and be that capable. Maybe in an expansion?

What? That boss folds like a castle of cards if you play touhou with 2 miniguns on him because he's so fat compared to a normal AC. The adds you can ignore completely and just rush him like he rushed you through the story.

Ibis, now. THAT's a rage inducing boss.
Really? Ibis first time I died because I wasn't expecting the barrage of laser blades. Destroyed it second time though just circle qb the laser blades and big beam then shoot when its close barrage when staggered.

Margit is far more rage inducing than the true last boss will ever be. ;p
None of the bosses in this game are any kind of hard, the problem is people keep saying they are dark souls bosses and approaching them as such. They don't work like dark souls bosses, there's no pattern to learn really, you just get snappier and snappier at executing once you learn how they generally work. I beat most of the bosses in this game just listening to the warning beeps from my computer. Took me ~30 minutes for Balteus, ~10 minutes for Spider, ~45 for Ibis, ~30 for fires of raven last boss, ~1h for true ending last boss. Only patterns I really learned is like, the slash pattern of Ibis and how the true ending last boss' claw strike's beams spread.
The only boss in Elden ring that I had any issues with was Malenia and most of that just came from her rng on what attacks she spams. The true final boss in this game is utter chaos phase one insta stagger gank squad with the fast laser spamming boss and phase 2 it just hits like a truck, teleports, and spams attacks. I've beaten all the armored cores, all the souls games, bloodborne, and elden ring I dont like how sekiro plays so never beat that one and this boss is the most over the top from software boss in my opinion.

I'm going to drop a crazy fact: Something can be easy, but still be badly designed, annoying, or unfun to do. I beat this boss 10+ times by now and I never felt any satisfaction because it's an annoying exhausting mess.
If it's annoying or exhausting to you then you obviously didn't find it that easy.
Ayre is a literal snooze fest and it took zero tactics or thought to kill her. Just slowly strafed in a circle firing my weapons with a few QBs thrown in and didn't need a single repair. Ibis, who is also easy, was at least interesting. Ayre is just an easier fight all around and causes yawning and boredom.

She isn't even the worst one. The final boss of the third ending is the most BS fight in the entire game. (yes, before anyone asks, I already beat it)

Hmm i wonder if dual ducketts will do
crossing blades Sep 7, 2023 @ 7:57pm
pretty damn hard, she loves to hover outside effective range, take it from someone who's been playing ebony and ivory the whole game
REBirthTheEdge Sep 12, 2023 @ 5:52am
Arye really telegraphs her moves, all you have to do is fly above or quickboost when she tries to telegraph her attacks.

Hell, I feel pity for her, really, she fights like she doesn't really want to fight you, I feel no malice.

And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I expect a 2nd phase.
Smut Butt Sep 12, 2023 @ 5:54am
ayre wasnt that bad. ibis was objectively harder, and to top that NG++ offers a less crackhead like IBIS, but still pretty IBIS like final fight. Sooo have fun with that

the most annoying part of the third ending boss is those little adds that run around during the first fase, they go down in like a single hit and do zero damage, but they are zip zooming all over the shop at like mock 6 and disrupting your target lock

She was a pain, but I got her with my dual plasma rifles and dual needles
