Difference between reflection & luster?
I know that there are images depicting the effects of reflection & luster, I just want proper descriptors for them. To my pea-brain, it looks like it just makes things "shiny" in two different ways, which confuses me.

So with reflection, they are affected by light effects more. Like if you have blue generator boosters on a highly reflective yellow AC, your color will look green, cuz blue+yellow=green. If you have 0 reflection on your yellow AC, the booster light won't reflect off the yellow and will still look yellow.

Luster yes, makes it shiny. Reflection makes things darker though, so it just looks great. But in situations with a lot of lighting, it can really mess with your color because it reflects so much.

You could look at it as metallic reflectiveness and paintjob polish/smoothness, same difference with specularity and glossiness, essentially

Do you want candy M&M shell vibe or polished metal vibe, basically.

Well ♥♥♥♥. That's such a simpler manner to put it

Don't thank me! Thank saints row and GTA car customization menus getting "Candy" as a shine type stuck in my brain!

Now if only we could save shine and wear settings, instead of them being locked per robot save.

"How come this is white instead of silver? I used the same paint pattern I saved-aw damnit."
