FromSoft doesn't know how to pronounce "corps".
The word "corps" is pronounced just like the title of this game, "kor". The "p" is silent, and the "s" is silent too unless the word is plural. Every voice actor in this game is mispronouncing it and I can't unhear it.

I'm pretty sure the military "corps" isn't meant to have the same meaning as just the plural form of the "corp" slang, hence "corps" in pronunciation.

It's not corps as in "Marine Corps" (pronounced like "core" with a soft P).

It's corps with the P pronounced like "corpse", which is a short-hand for "corporations" (like Arquebus, Balam, etc)
