Do people... really have issue with IBIS?
How resistant to learning do you have to be to make it this far into the game and have issues with boss like that? All of it's attacks are directed straigth at you. Just fought it for the first time, and the moment i stopped trying to kill it with reverse joint and grenade launchers (that's what i came with at the start) i switched to fast biped with dual shotguns and cleared 1st phase with no damage taken, then used like one repair kit in 2nd to be safe. I basically first tried the whole fight.

I mean what are people fighting it with, a brick? After this whole game, seeing something that attacks so fast should immidiatley scream "take fast biped" in your head. Then all it takes is just a basic sense of timing while dodging because attacks have next to no AoE so direction barely matters and is very intuitive.

Why are people having issue with this, please someone explain it to me because i'm flabbergasted right now. I had my butt clenched from horror stories about that fight but it was really cool and dynamic, kinda like very easy version of Lady Maria from Bloodborne.

Edit: Okay looking back this post ended up more "flexy" than i intended. I'm not here to "flex" that i killed a boss with dual shotgun, it's one of the most optimal builds in the game. But it IS there, and it is tailor made for this boss, so I'm just wondering, if this very obvious solution to this fight exists then why so many people coplain about this boss?

There was no call for any of this.

Honestly Ibis is the only boss that I feel has no place in an Armored Core game.

Literally every other boss runs the range of fine to "irritating but inoffensive", but Ibis just doesn't belong in an AC game from a design standpoint imo, and I'm very much glad that I never have to fight it ever again now that I have all the combat logs and parts from that mission.

Hi, I have killed Iblis with pistols and a side of face slaps.

Iblis is still overtuned. If you understand the fight then you should understand why it is "A bit much"

Half the reason I could chump her with pistols later was because her cheating AI clearly loves to constantly warp to the range the good revolvers bounce... But the seemingly trash needle pistols have longer range, so she still takes full damage.

Meanwhile, a twin rifle build and wow look at em spam flying up to 350-400 distance int he air! Just like basically every boss past chapter 1. Even sea spider's biggest issue is 'Wow that sure is a lot of deflects even when they stagger in phase 2 if I fire from ground level', and they are a giant pinata of a target.

This is an overall very good armored core, with the main flaw being "Fromsoft has loved bosses running away from you like cowards unless it is to use a close range murder move while people are convinced that is hardcore since the 1990s"

Well done you beat it with the most meta build possible after struggling without - this is not the flex you think it is

This is all you needed to say man, swapped to the most broken build in the game and first tried it, what a surprise.
Same as saying "Do people have trouble with Elden Ring? I just used Comet Azur."

I beat Ibis with only a few tries, but even I still say Ibis is over-tuned and out of place.

Bosses like Balteus, C-Spider, and Ibis all come out of nowhere for no real reason. They just show up and are immediately hostile because FromSoftware now has a hard-on for random boss fights.
Bosses are free to be more powerful than the player. That's to be expected. But they shouldn't have to be overwhelmingly more powerful with infinite energy with free dodging and zipping around the entire battle arena. In short, Ibis is beyond than what was necessary, as there are better ways to make boss fights more interesting and challenging for the player.

And this is an ongoing problem I see with AC6. It has only one kind of difficulty, only one kind of challenge: it's bosses. And even the bosses can be trivialized.
The classic titles were able to challenge the players in more ways than just boss fights. Ammo management, AP management, money management, etc etc etc. So even though it can be fun sometimes, I think AC6 is actually a very bad Armored Core game as far as "Armored Core design philosophy" goes.

imagine bragging about playing double shotty.

I found the jump of reverse joints to be very useful for dodging actually, I was using the Mind Beta legs iirc. but I also just used laser lance & dual stun needles tho so what's it matter haha like I got S-Rank first try despite the attempt feeling overall sloppy like killing the 2 AC's at the start kinda slow, pointlessly killing trash mobs on the way to the boss, and almost dying using all my repair kits in phase 2.

I still have problems fighting this trash can with the 45 ammo submachine gun, blade and 2x missile launchers...

I use very basic body parts, nothing special really and it's just impossible to beat. With souls games, you could have at least dodge most of the attacks, but I am not a robot to dodge all those slash attacks which are thrown at me perfectly + raining lasers from above my head at once.

I have tried changing some parts, especially shoulder weapons and hand weapons, but rifles are just too slow to shoot as well as the velocity of the shot is very slow, I have tried the pile bunker and it's quite useless imo because the blades seem to do higher damage + blades do have further reach, plasma shotgun basically same as the rifle the boss just keeps flying away from me and from one side to another so I can't hit anything with that also, vertical missile launchers are same as the normal ones so no change at all, I have also tried rocket launcher and I have no idea how to use that it seems extremely useless to me.

Dodge? You can literally just move sideways on the ground and never get hit, maybe you need like 330 boost speed tho but that's not hard. Just use Firmeza or Mind Beta legs.

This is a great video that shows exactly what to look for regarding openings in Ibis' pattern:

Oh sorry, I forgot to dodge in this game, thanks for mentioning this, I will definitely try that, maybe I should fire my weapons also...

I mean what kind of answer is that, I appreciate your tip, but I keep dodging as perfectly as I can, I have been fighting this thing for few hours so I know when to dodge perfectly, but I am still getting hit by those stupid slash attacks because I have to also dodge all kinds of other attacks while the slashes are flying towards me, the dodging wouldn't even be that much of a problem... it's the weapons, I haven't found anything better than the submachine gun and I am hitting it ONLY when staggered or when the boss just stays at one place for some reason for like 2 seconds.

I have a couple left. Better act quick if you want one. The centerfold is a masterpiece!
OTAKU WARKITTEN Sep 3, 2023 @ 3:22pm
I've spent over 10 hours trying to beat it. I've tried bipod, tank, reversed join, song birds, gattling guns, ice needle, pile driver, pulse sword, lance, shot guns, close range FCS, mid range FCS, long range FCS, linear rifles and more. I completely rebuilt my mech multiple times, watched and read multiple tutorials and nothing works. It is just too fast, reads too well into my attacks, too hard hitting. It's either too far away when staggered then hits me as I try to boost to it or gets all in my face and hits me with combos. by the time the second part happens I just straight up can't see anything beside a blur of red as my mech insta dies. I've played nearly every other armored core and nothing was ever like this. I am just not into dark soulss, sekiro, or elden ring that this game now mimics to get those fans who like those games.
