Literally every other boss runs the range of fine to "irritating but inoffensive", but Ibis just doesn't belong in an AC game from a design standpoint imo, and I'm very much glad that I never have to fight it ever again now that I have all the combat logs and parts from that mission.
Iblis is still overtuned. If you understand the fight then you should understand why it is "A bit much"
Half the reason I could chump her with pistols later was because her cheating AI clearly loves to constantly warp to the range the good revolvers bounce... But the seemingly trash needle pistols have longer range, so she still takes full damage.
Meanwhile, a twin rifle build and wow look at em spam flying up to 350-400 distance int he air! Just like basically every boss past chapter 1. Even sea spider's biggest issue is 'Wow that sure is a lot of deflects even when they stagger in phase 2 if I fire from ground level', and they are a giant pinata of a target.
This is an overall very good armored core, with the main flaw being "Fromsoft has loved bosses running away from you like cowards unless it is to use a close range murder move while people are convinced that is hardcore since the 1990s"
Same as saying "Do people have trouble with Elden Ring? I just used Comet Azur."
Bosses like Balteus, C-Spider, and Ibis all come out of nowhere for no real reason. They just show up and are immediately hostile because FromSoftware now has a hard-on for random boss fights.
Bosses are free to be more powerful than the player. That's to be expected. But they shouldn't have to be overwhelmingly more powerful with infinite energy with free dodging and zipping around the entire battle arena. In short, Ibis is beyond than what was necessary, as there are better ways to make boss fights more interesting and challenging for the player.
And this is an ongoing problem I see with AC6. It has only one kind of difficulty, only one kind of challenge: it's bosses. And even the bosses can be trivialized.
The classic titles were able to challenge the players in more ways than just boss fights. Ammo management, AP management, money management, etc etc etc. So even though it can be fun sometimes, I think AC6 is actually a very bad Armored Core game as far as "Armored Core design philosophy" goes.
I use very basic body parts, nothing special really and it's just impossible to beat. With souls games, you could have at least dodge most of the attacks, but I am not a robot to dodge all those slash attacks which are thrown at me perfectly + raining lasers from above my head at once.
I have tried changing some parts, especially shoulder weapons and hand weapons, but rifles are just too slow to shoot as well as the velocity of the shot is very slow, I have tried the pile bunker and it's quite useless imo because the blades seem to do higher damage + blades do have further reach, plasma shotgun basically same as the rifle the boss just keeps flying away from me and from one side to another so I can't hit anything with that also, vertical missile launchers are same as the normal ones so no change at all, I have also tried rocket launcher and I have no idea how to use that it seems extremely useless to me.
Dodge? You can literally just move sideways on the ground and never get hit, maybe you need like 330 boost speed tho but that's not hard. Just use Firmeza or Mind Beta legs.

I mean what kind of answer is that, I appreciate your tip, but I keep dodging as perfectly as I can, I have been fighting this thing for few hours so I know when to dodge perfectly, but I am still getting hit by those stupid slash attacks because I have to also dodge all kinds of other attacks while the slashes are flying towards me, the dodging wouldn't even be that much of a problem... it's the weapons, I haven't found anything better than the submachine gun and I am hitting it ONLY when staggered or when the boss just stays at one place for some reason for like 2 seconds.
