I got the Karasawa...
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. What was the point in grinding all those combat logs?

Horrible ammo efficiency compared to the Nebula and standard plasma rifle. Takes a while to build up to full charge which would not be an issue until you realize it costs TEN shots of your initial 80 for really lackluster damage output. Uncharged it is a joke against the Trainer AC, as useful as a peashooter. First stage charge is 4 shots and does about as much damage as a regular plasma gun maybe.

There is literally no reason to not just use an energy shotgun or the nebula over this thing. It is incredibly disappointing for a weapon you have to grind to get half way into your NG+ play through. Hell just a single shot from a zimmerman point blank hits harder.

One of the most iconic weapons in the whole series is kind of a joke compared to two shotguns and a couple grenade launchers that you get in your first play through. ♥♥♥♥♥ broken.

KRSV is pretty average. After some usage in sorties they could either lower the ridiculous weight or give it 20 more rounds. But I do love spamming plasma shots.

And...? AC4 and 5 also had Karasawas that were forgetable at best.
most of the energy guns in this game are underminded. They feel like a second thought. devs didnt care that much.

They feel kinda unfinished tbh. Terrible against pretty much anything and you even have to pay for the "ammo".

Brother I feel your pain but I have not given up hope. I don't think there is a plasma weapon that can match the rate of fire of the Karasawa. I am ignoring the 2 charge shots available as my smooth brain can't handle charge and shoot and animation locks.

That too sounds incredibly disappointing. You're also leaving out all of the other games where the Karasawa absolutely slaps. Whats your point? That because it was bad in two previous games that it should also be bad in a game where it takes more effort to get rather than just tripping over it in a late mission on your first play through?

No, its just that "Karasawa" doesnt stand for a unique and viable gun any more. Its just "unique" these days and thats it.
edit: the Coral Guns pretty much took its place.

It really isnt worth it anyway. If you want power just get the rocket treads with two zimms and two grenade launchers. Takes all the difficulty out of the game, to the point where I only bring it out to deal with high difficulty missions.
I quite like that 6 takes weapons that have a long history of being flat out the best in their category (Moonlight, Kara) and makes other weapons be better than them. It's boring having the same iconic weapons being the best in every game.

Okay, that still really isnt a good reason for the karasawa to be not really any better than any other energy weapon you get in your first playthrough. Wheres the reward in grinding for it?
