Best Melee Weapon: Pile Bunker vs. Lance vs. Moonlight?
Which is the best melee weapon? By stats alone it looks like Pile Bunker is by far the best even an uncharged PB hit out-dps the Lance and Moonlight.

I'm playing around with the Lance right now, and it seems to be worse than Pile Bunker in every category, much lower dmg, and much heavier which means slower boost.

Moonlight is great on any mission that spams MTs with no major bosses.

I have been loopnig back to the default laser blade due to arm carry concerns trying lighter builds, and also getting sick of both the lance and pile bunker clipping through stunned in the air enemies.
Pulse blade is the default, Laser blade is the one that does 2 wide range horizontal slashes with the charge attack.

As for moonlight, I absolutely love having a cool ranged attack on my mid range mech. Wish I could make a long range mech but y'know... thats not really a thing in this game.
Long blade felt cool until I kept doing useless spin slashes a foot over the enforcer's head with it. "Oh no, he is on a ramp! My FCS clearly can't cope!"

The chainsaw has an absurd damage multiplier against staggered foes.

Not really that much damage in practice. I used it a ton against sea spider and it's no pile bunker, that's for sure.

Moonlight is the only correct answer. Everything else is just meme tier.

The coral blade is pretty awesome too. It's charge up is nice against most enemies and it hits pretty hard too. Too bad you get it near the end of the game instead of somewhere in the middle. And if your wondering how to obtain it, hunter rank 15.

Well, I must be one of the few who really enjoys the dagger haha
Really light, 3 hit combo and low enough cooldown to basically use it again after a boost kick.
It's just so fun to play
Dagger is awesome, especially I find it useful in pvp as a shoulder carry, so I stun a light using double chaddermans, and then obliterate the rest of their HP with the dagger. It sucks when people actually play as a team though.

Plasma thrower > everything. Offense, defense, AoE, volume of hits, impact for the cooldown. Does it all.

True. Standout weapons were a thing in the old games. But I think there were more of them than what we have in AC6. Most people talk about the Songbirds, Needle Stuns, Zimmermans, and laser cannons. I have yet to see anyone boast about how awesome the assault rifles are for sweeping up mobs (they don't, because Zimmermans do it better and are still useful against bosses).

I would like to say though swords were tough to use in the old games. It doesn't matter how hard the Moonlight hits for if you can't hit with it.
I think we can grant the PS1 Karasawa a "best" weapon title, but that was also the original three games. From Software was still new and young, and learning. It still ran out of ammo quickly, with only 50 rounds. If you got your opponent to burn through it all (which I have done) it became a very hefty paper weight.
Moonlight with human+ blade beams was way stronger than Karasawa and it had infinite ammo.

Even without the blade beams, moonlight is objectively the best blade and there was nothing else to put in the slot in ac1-2 so no point in not adding it.

The moonlight blade is typically heavy and eats into your energy. If you're looking to shed weight and improve your EN output on your AC, dropping the Moonlight was an easy way to do it. And the idea was to beat the games without H+. That's how you knew you were good at the game.

Doesn't matter what you think about H+, it was objectively the best weapon in AC1.

I do agree its a lot more challenging without it though.

Lance is better then anything else hands down.

The Moonlight was the hardest hitting sword. But getting in close enough to use any sword in the old games meant you were probably taking shots to the face. I prefer to not take shots to the face. So I will agree to disagree about the Moonlight.

For me, it was the shoulder chaingun and grenade weapon arms.

I think you missed the comment so I will reiterate.

Moonlight with H+ was objectively the best weapon in AC1. Massive damage, good range, infinite ammo.

I used the chaingun for most of the game, and a missile launcher... and I think Karasawa on shorter missions and something else on longer ones. Been a good 8 years since I last played the first game though.

You still have to hit with it. If your weapon can't land a hit, it's a glorified paper weight.
Waveblade Moonlight is still dumbfire weapon, like rockets. If you and I played vs match in the arena, I can guarantee your waveblade wasn't hitting me.

Double Trouble for boss shredding.

Laser Dagger for great combo damage or a huge ACS break build up

Redshift moonlight for Fast AF boys.
CSskullflame 1/set./2023 às 12:46
Pile bunker is the best melee weapon because if your opponent gets hit by the full charge, they have to uninstall the game in shame
