Plasma missile launchers explosive or energy?
I'm trying to figure this out but there's surprisingly little online about this. I would assume plasma missile launchers are energy damage but can someone confirm it?

Plasma = energy
Rockets, grenades, missiles, etc = boom/explosive
Guns w/physical ammunition that does not explode = kinetic

Not strictly true due to kinetic missiles and explosive guns. Pretty sure plasma missiles deal energy damage though

Theres a set of little (like very small) icons at the top of the detailed stats page that will show you what category each is in. Since they're small and white they're kind of hard to see but that one lists as energy.

True, just covering the basics :)

They hide this fact in the optional context help tooltips. But plasma missiles do not get a bonus from energy weapon modifier stats from generators. Laser blades do not either. As they call those out specifically.

Also why the hell does the context help menu not let you see what the image icons mean yeesh.

I have NO idea if orbit/gundam funnels get a bonus from generator stats or not. Probably not the disposable ones. Maybe the one that docks back into your shoulders again. (the curved beam laser missiles are so garbage that even MT dodge them so who cares)

Kinetic missiles (the ones on Rusty's 2nd mech) just deal kinetic.
There's a tiny little icon when looking at the detailed weapon info which states what type of damage the weapon does.

If you hit 'V' and select explanations, you get a read out of what each icons means when you hover over it.

I really should try playing this with my mouse and keyboard for a bit just to see how it goes. Could even give my steam controller a try, ibis was getting kind of tough to keep in my crosshairs with the ps5 controller.

I have never been able to make it work with the icons, just the stat explanations.

EDIT: On pad. It works when hovering over the icons.

EDIT 2: Bizarrely, if you are using a controller, you need to go into "contextual help" mode, hover over "EN Load" on the right panel, then hit "down" to select the icons.
