Ok. nothing i shoot with will actually hit this thing. What am i doing wrong? Also messing around with it for a little, I find out he actually will not do anything for a solid 10 seconds or more until I shoot at it. The moment I shoot he is all over the place lmao

Get in its face and shoot it during an assault boost to make the hits count.
itll dodge everything unless its in the middle of a sequence or recovering from a certain sequence. the main sequence to watch out for is the one at the very start of the fight. and actually with most bosses this is part of the case. usually they open with a move that leaves them unreactive for a moment. IDIS in particular when they do their sword dash through you, they will stand still for about 2-3 seconds giving you an opportunity to lay some damage.
and a lot of it just comes down to rushing IDIS. they dodge so much, but you have to be aggressive somehow. this fight really makes you find a balance between aggression and passive play to stay alive.

yeah I've found out that his literal first attack will leave him open for a second.. but after that god almighty he is tough.

Buy the Piledriver, Songbirds and JVLN-Alpha bazooka. Use bazooka and songbird to stun, then assault boost into charged Piledriver.

as much as i want to win.. i don't want to. i've stuck with my bipedal legs since the start of the game and this feels too much like a cheese. but i feel like i'm out of luck unless someone can tell me i can actually beat this thing without it.

i got all the way to the final stage and IDIS was below half health, 3rd hp bar left, and i was on minimum AP, full energy build. still couldn't do it. so i changed to duel zimmers like everyone else and twin worm needles. beat it in no time. i hate that i had to cheese it but i just got tired of dealing with IDIS movements. it is one hell of a fight, and probably the hardest the game has to offer.

I tried multiple laser combinations, but their dodge is just stupid op, so i found that any thing with spread or aoe would hit best. i had dual laser cannons - shotguns essentially on my sholders, and the two high impact laser shotguns that look like drills. still kinda cheesey, but its the only thing that helped me land consecutive shots. they still dodged a ♥♥♥♥ ton of them though.

sounds like me. my sword will hit in some tries but sometimes hits all the time in other tries(no idea why). but i obviously couldn't get any farther once his 2nd phase starts.

Look at its "first" attack pattern. That one is my damage output moment.
And it's obvious to notice it is happening.
Why? It fly to sky and have it's laser shooting thing to form a huge wing.
Later it rain those laser vertically. You go left gliding.
Once rain stop. You start left and forward 45 degree gliding cause it will give you a slash and land pretty much in front of you and stop there for a moment.
Also at the moment it lands, you can change 45 degree to forward glide only then melee it.
I am using laser lance and one shotgun shot to stun it. Then double songbird to give additional damage.

Honestly Gatling guns were particularly good here because their rate of fire is so high the guy takes plenty of chip damage, and it does decent stun as well. My build was exceptionally blunt - twin Gats and twin Songbirds - but I think if you went with a single Stinger, one gatling, and kinda any reasonbly high rate of fire off weapon, you'd be okay. Especially if you're keeping your speed up to like 330 or higher.

It has a distinct pattern, first phase can actually be cheesed down with some well timed needles and gats. Second phase gets really hairy, because even if its pattern is the same, its still gonna mess you up. You have to make good use of assault boosts and staggering it and take it down fast

It was mostly playing defence till it got close and shotgunned it for me. Takes patience.

What worked for me was the fast tank legs, double minigun, and double laser cannons on my back

Stagger him with the double mini guns and then hit him with fully charged laser cannons

I really like VE-67LLA (laser lance) + PB-033M ASHMEAD. Any rockets and shotgun in right hand/shoulder.

You just strafe and poke with missiles until he stop, then do charged lance+charged piledriver combo. Also use hands with melee specialization and ofc all chips into melee+direct hit dmg.

Repeat combo 4 times and he dead.

Time big attacks, after some moves it stands still for a bit.
