I hate using missiles.
I hate em. They simply never hit anything unless it is stupid enough to sit still. Even large tank ACs can dodge them by simply moving in a line.

I understand that they are for "pressuring" enemies but why would I bother to do that when I could just shoot them to death instead?

I feel like they could do with a bit of a turn radius buff to make them a little more viable, at least against larger targets.

Use more missiles, bigger missiles, rain death upon them.

Previous AC games had "Regulations" that changed things like that. At least AC4FA did anyway. Until we get those for this game, some of the FCS do improve missile tracking, but yeah, I never found them to ever be better than direct-fire weapons.

The only missiles I found to have any value were the plasma ones, since they just bombard a whole area with aoe explosions they actually hit. It's a shame there isn't an upgrade to the vertical plasma launcher.

I use them to bait the enemies into position.
Did you even equip the correct Fire Control System (FCS) tailored to what Rocket Equipment you have and what range....

If you time it right, right at the end of their evasion you can blast them with a bazooka.

different type of missile exist for different type of purpose
1. Fast missile from sides allow you to "zone your apponent", make their next movement predictable thus allow your next attack to land lots of hit on return
2. Delayed launch missile is good for predicting your opponent next moves, either allow you to zone em first using the other weapon, or time the attack between flight time to land a proper hit
3. Slow missile work best on close range
4. Vertical work best for airborne enemy/ hitting blindside
5. Plasma & energy missile is somewhat all round, yet has the most inconsistent damage output
6. Last we have the kinetic missile which also work best vs fast mover at mid-close range

Considering how often enemy units can dodge them I just wish we can delay each missile being fire. Just so the enemy can waste their evade.

there are couple missile weapon that can delay it's missile launch

Good missiles is allowed only for bosses.
