1. Right now close range stunlock spam is king, so there's a balance problem, and with so many options to close in and few to push people away / get away that seems hard to fix atm
2. 3v3 pvp rooms is a step down from the 4v4 clan battles of the last two games
3. They made the lock box full screen with very powerful auto turn lock on. You don't really aim anymore
4. They eliminated turn speed, so keyboard and mouse is kind of recommended.
The main problem with pvp is not the fits but the rooms. We desperately need co-op PvE of some kind with the bros & lobbies need work badly. Armored Core games do best when your opponent is changed after each fight & what we have now is weird outside of the 3v3 team matches.
Why are there rooms that can fill 4+ people but they are 1v1 matches & you are FORCED to spectate until it's over? Who's idea was this?
There should be an option to just lump a ton of people into a huge lobby and an algorithm has pairs of them fight ect. There is so much downtime people either leave or immediately leave after their first fight. I highly suspect it's the format of these lobbies which massively remind me of Guns of Icarus.. and we can see how good that turned out for them.
Despite being a little worse than the other games in modes and balancing. If you do not follow the stun meta and just find a match where people just use fun builds that arent broken, then is the game fun or not
As it stands, it certainly has the best netcode of any FromSoftware game. That goes a long way.
i mean if there a fast gun that deal descent damage without doing stoping animation, i would use it the rifle not really good.
Without matchmaking, I fear this game will end up relying on Discord communities to keep the MP alive in the long run. I suggest getting into it while the playerbase is still fresh and new.
This, the lobby system for this game is so bad and killed alot of my hype for multiplayer. No coop is also a really big downside.
From Software's stated before it doesn't like their multiplayer community because it gatekeeps the games from normies. I think theyre focusing on single player titles now moslty to avoid controversy like Elden Ring had with its multiplayer. Even though the game sold well the threads complaining about multiplayer was a PR disaster
The days of Dark souls 3 multiplayer are long gone, and have been for almost 10 years.
There isn't going ever to be another multiplayer experience like dark souls 3 in FROM SOFTWARE's line up ever again. they'd rather avoid coop and pvp mechanics all together and I think this game shows it.
It was clearly designed with multiplayer in mind but due to elden ring controversy and time constraints its no surprise why it was cut down to just 1 bare bones lobby system halfway through development. AC 4 and 5 even had better online systems
