Absolutely ridiculous. I love these things. Now why can't the actual railgun weapons be like that?

It doesn't need a nerf FFS... It's heavy enough so that if you want to retain some level of dodge mobility, you need to sacrifice enough in your build to effectively make you a glass cannon. Otherwise, if you want to rock dual needles and still have armor, well then you're 'fatrollan' equivalent.

Needles also have a firing time. Short time yes, but a firing time nonetheless and for them to land bang on is going to take some planning and maybe luck if you don't have a build to keep your target still for long enough.

Saying needles need a nerf is like saying the Pile Bunker needs a nerf... a max charged Pile Bunker can OHKO almost anyone, now go tell me how many situations exist where you can actually land a full charged PB hit easily...

Max charge pile bunker has virtually no range, it's very punishable if you miss and you can only have one, not two. Landing shots with the Stun Needle is ridiculously easy on big bosses like the SMART sweeper or CEL/Ibis or Balteus/V.II Snail or Juggernaut. Not to mention that even on fast enemies you can simply stagger them for guaranteed hits with the stun needle launchers. One stagger + double stun needles almost one-shots pretty much everything. You also have to keep in mind that the Stun Needle Launchers have very long range, very short windup time AND a large AOE, so even without stagger you still have a good chance of hitting fast targets.

Why even argue against this? This isn't some hot take or anything

Yep. The stun needles are mega broken. Nice to have a game's required plot weapon actually be really good for a change.

I can only take one of them on my lighter build, but that's still generally enough to get the job done. I remember thinking "what could possibly better than the songbirds?" little did I know they'd give us a back weapon with more damage per shot that shoots a near-hitscan projectile.

They could use some tweaking on account of being by far the best back weapon in the game. Maybe they could make it reload a little slower?

I like it simply because it's my high "direct-damage multiplier" shoulder buster.
I wonder why other shoulder direct-fire weapons can't have that good a multiplier?
Bit sad if you ask me.

I would say it's probably overused in PvP from what I've seen on YouTube...

Personally, since it's an anti-coral weapon, I think it should only have the full, intended effect on coral-powered bosses... and players who use one of the two coral generators for that cool, flashy red look. (And if you didn't know, yes, it changes your flames to be a deep ruby red.)
