So are the pilots physically inside their ACs or not?
I haven't played the previous games, but as far as I understand, the AC pilots in those games were controlling their mechs from the inside. However, AC6 trailers made me believe that this time somehow only your mind gets transferred into the AC, and your physical body stays elsewhere. Was I wrong about that? No spoilers if this gets cleared out further in the story, please.

they sometimes say that they have to use ejection, but im also not 100%

Half the lore in this game is just talking about how people are butched with gruesome surgeries to handle the effects of piloting the mechs, pretty safe to say they are in there.

I'd like to think my pilot is some bodybag stuffed into the cockpit strapped to the controls by an array of wires and cables controlling the mech's responses with his brain synapses and muscle spasms (something like a Warhammer 40k dreadnought) while most everyone else controls their machines from inside like most anime mech pilots.

well so models doesn't seem like it's possible for the pilote to be inside

Well, in previous games, ac can be piloted by normal humans or remotely controlled by ai. But human plus(and i feel this applies to augmented humans too) are integrated into their ac's.

Pilots are inside their ACs yes, several logs talk about pilots dying inside their ACs or pulling the ejection seats. The entire point of human augmentation is to allow them to pilot ACs.

There's even a cutscene shows your autopilot taking over for a moment and checking your vital signs because you're knocked unconscious by coral poisoning.

I think the further you get into the story the more confusing it gets. Raven is in the the AC based on certain events that transpire, how he manages to get in and out of ACs is beyond me. Sometimes you'll take an AC out and they'll die other times you'll see an AC get taken out and they won't die. I don't know if this is just some serious plot armor or not.

Ejection, several combat logs talk about pilots pulling the ejection lever as they're about to blow up

This is feel like its more question is whether they have backup to eject and get away if youre ambushed and somebody really wants you dead and theres no allies to occupy them, theyre gonna kill you.

They are piloted, and torsos have varying degrees of accommodations for the pilot in their so called "core box". The mind alpha is described as allowing the machine to act as an extension of their body, while the ephemera says that it's core box is basically vestigial and only provides minimum accommodations.

Augmentation for integration with an AC but they have an eject? That seems hard to believe. I doubt any pilot who ejected during Ice Worm ejected far enough to be safe. Which either way makes it plot armor.

I'm wondering if we can't eject because our arms are strapped to our body bags, thus rendering us unable to reach the ejection lever. Auto-pilot kicking in, though? Hmm...

Most likely we are integrated into our machine as "augmented human" while normal people hold a joystick we have a cord to back of our skull and pilot it with thought.

I want to buy all the support guys that risked their lives saving all the ejections during Ice Worm then because everyone involved would be super dead.
