Sniper rifle?
Is there any? Kinda disappointed bazookas, grenade launchers and missiles feel like the only long range weapons in the game.

No, the FCS lock on range for long range is anemically short. If you really want to 'snipe' your best bet is to become a missile mech, failing that...manual aim+cannons.

there used to be in past games but they were cut in this one. like weapon arms, shoulder weapons, and parry blades.

Don't worry. It just means we have MTX/DLC to look forward to... :csgogun::chaos:

This game is all about forcing you into close range and playing like Sekiro. They have done everything the possibly can to destroy long range play.

Other than what you mentioned, the purple energy weapons have like 400 range. That's pretty much your best bet. ACs are close quarters mechs according to the lore, so you won't be sniping stuff from miles away in this game. Even with manual aim there's ricochet and max projectile range to prevent that.

The Linear Rifle is the closest I've seen so far.

I hate Core Theory. Give me my 1000 round no reload/overheat machinegun like in AC3 and I will change the world.

Not sure what "lore" you're talking about because the older games all had a huge variety of purpose, flexibility, roles, etc. Some of the old arena opponents were "long-ranged specialists." This is just Souls garbage shoved into AC, simple as.

Yep. The charged shot is kinda a snipe. I could wipe out entire map without being noticed in that Swinburne mission with her. That single shot missile is another option; you can manually center the reticule in your target without a lock by ridiculously long range and see the missile slowly traverse until contact.

Depending on how far you are, the Needle Shoulder weapons are what you are looking for.
If you are too early for that, use the Linear rifle

I think he means the “Core Theory” that appears on the flavor text for certain equipment. It suggests that in this world of AC6, ACs are more build towards close-quarters combat.

Nope. They took out snipers and projectile velocity so everything almost moves the same speed.

Except the enemy doesn't play by this rule.

Even the pvp arenas are tiny compared to past games

yeah, the velocity thing is what is really bugging me right now. I was going to try doing a long range build for my second playthrough since I went through the first with like pure shotgun/handguns but the bullet speed is just... painful to watch.

I was testing out some of the gun ranges to see where the linear rifles ricochet and they actually missed shots occasionally on the tetrapod with AI turned off in the practice range. I'm standing still, it's standing still, and the shot just goes right past it.

Actually, all shell based weapon in AC3 have magazine and reload time, but they have short reload time and reloads automatically when not shooting.
