But a lot of people like Cel-240. I will concede it's clearly a controversial boss because a lot of people don't like it either. But I'd prefer if people kept it to honest things like that. For example my first time beating it I was using a melee build, that was the only way I could figure out how to do enough damage until I got better at the game lol. Anywho, I respect that not everyone enjoys it! For me though, super fun boss and definitely the highlight of the game.
As someone who has played and greatly enjoyed every FromSoftware game since Dark Souls 1, and hasn't ever beaten an Armored Core game before this (though I know of them decently well), I would say this game is just as difficult as their other games.
It's not too difficult against regular enemies, but the bosses are very difficult under normal circumstances. Although you can arguably make the game much easier on yourself than in most FromSoftware games by changing up your build - this isn't like in Sekiro where you are forced to "Git Gud," you can look up a build and beat most stages or bosses easily.
It's harder than playing Elden Ring or such if you just summoned other players or used overpowered summons to fight for you, but easier otherwise. I personally find it to be suitably difficult, with harder bosses taking an hour or two of attempts unless I change my build massively (in which case they can be defeated in 2-5 attempts at most).
In Summary: based on their games since Demon's Souls, Armored Core 6 is par for the course. It is neither harder or easier than their other games on average, but if you change your mech build reliably it becomes a bit easier than their other games.
Most real problems came from few poorely desighn bosses and unability to use heal under enemy atacks.
Most problems for people first time playing mecha - there is too much numbers that are not clear what to mean, too many guns and parts and thus they end in 20 hours boss try hard session, instead of 5 min run with "oh, dat bich from Daemon x Machina now here? Ok, where are my quads, light armor and flamer?" ideology.
Kingdom come deliverance is much harder on hardcore with all debuffs on and mods to make everything like 100% harder. And prolly some other soulsborne games are harder. But its up there in how hard it is.
Then you have Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 for those that have played them. Those are quite difficult.
This is the most accurate response imo, it's Sekiro level, and linear.
It's harder than all of them, it really is more like Sekiro.
