An arena boss pretending to be nineball would've been a nice easter egg though
Like White Glint from AC4 is ranked 9th place, so might be a Nineball reference.
Or Exusia from AC5 is named after an angel... like Nineball Seraph.
Stuff like that.
There's no definitive lore between whether or not AC,PP, MoA are related to AA and there's speculative lore that PP, SL, 4 and 4A and 4-5 are implicitly related. It's true that Nineball was prevalent in 3rd gen, but he also was prevalent in 1st gen.
My post doesn't exclude any of this from being true, it only states that AC6 feels a lot like AA/3rd gen where nineball was present and therefore, theoretically, could be in the same timeframe lorewise since space travel has existed in multiple of the games AND that an easter egg or cameo would've been a nice fan service from fromsoft.
AC lore connections aren't great because each game is more or less meant to be it's own experience, but there are implied connections everywhere across the series.
I've long assumed each generation was a parallel dimension.
Like at some point during the development of ACs the timeline just splintered, and that's why "ACs" is the only universal commonality in the series. (even the Kurasawa and Moonlight don't make it into every game)
I like to go the other route, where the first three games take place in a post apocalyptic earth after a catastrophic war that lead to 'corporations' replacing 'governments' and then that just lead to a perpetual war machine that propagated through the solar system.
With 3-Last Raven being the emergence of humanity back onto earth, 4 and 4A being the peak of technology and 5 occurring in a more distant future where the knowledge from 4-4A ended up lost to time and had to be dug up.
AC6's aesthetic is almost identical to AA and the gameplay is almost identical to 3rd gen and I already see *some* throwbacks to those games so it would've been nice to have an easter egg or two. I'm glad at least that nineball isn't the BBEG for like a sixth time.
But yeah, it's all speculative and fanfic. I think it's a deliberate move by FromSoft tbh. Both to keep the games contained as themselves and to keep the fanbase engaged.
Transforming flight mode the whole "entering in termination mode" (cant remember the exact line) made me think. oh here is our Nineball cameo.... dont know why they didnt paint him red. Currently working on the "True Ending" so maybe there is a better cameo there.
I read the first 4 words and already read too much!
