Defending The Xylem Tower

Is it just me, or is the game bugged during this quest?

I'm currently at Chapter 5 of the game, and have beaten preceding content with relative ease so far. Now, the mission is to defend this tower from enemies. So I thought, okay, fair, let's do what we can. First 3 minutes, it's completely normal, managing the incoming waves of enemies, while making sure the tower or shield does not take any damage.

Now here's where things get weird for me. So at the 3 minute mark of the mission, enemy sniper ACs will spawn, and aim at the tower and shield, so of course what anyone would do is take them down.

So I go and shoot the first one down, but the other 2 snipers 1 shot the tower and shield in 1 second. This is where it's weird. I watched numerous videos of the same mission from different players, and the snipers even if they charge up or are left for a few seconds, do not oneshot the tower or shield, but chunk it instead. But in my case, a snipe deals the entire hp bar of the shield, and the other sniper, the entire hp bar of the tower, making it extremely frustrating since it has no counterplay,

So I managed to kill all 6 snipers, with the shield gone, but the tower's hp was still full, then here comes the suicide squad of drones that effectively 1 shot the tower again. Comparing the damage of the drones and snipers to other people's runs, is making me question the game, as to why are the damage values different?

I'm having the same issue. Snipers I can deal with, I leave laser drones to cover their landing spots. But the drones are too fast, even laser weapons don't give you enough time to take them out. They just show up, and 2 seconds later one shot the tower from full shield and health to dead.

edit: okay got it. Reloaded the game and focused on laying down a ton of laser drones. missed all the suicide drones, but they didn't one shot the tower anymore.

Weird I also have this issue of suicide drones one-shoting tower.

Solved. I took them out with the grenade gauntlet melee weapon.
