How did you kill ibis?
Mecha Malenia is way too strong.

Im gonna latch onto this thread. I can do the boss fine except for the sweeping melee attacks. No matter how I dodge, timing, direction, etc, they always hit me and 3 shot my ac.

From what I've noticed her double/triple blade combo always leads the second and third blade beam so if you're quickboosting in the same direction twice you're still gonna get hit

Use Dual Anti-Ice Worm cannons on my back. (to instantly disable them)

Dual Zimmerman shotguns. (for massive damage.)

Ez win. Works for literally every boss in the game.

Heavy reverse legs build with quickboost spam optimised boosters and frame parts, dual gatling guns for arms and dual songbirds for shoulders, with pulse armor core. This was build I was using for like half the game up to this point and it still worked here but it was not easy, switching the core expansion from assault to pulse armor was the main thing that helped me, and if I were to do it again I would replace one of the songbirds(maybe both if you have a build that can handle the weight) with stun needle launcher since that thing has a much faster projectile which helps with how fast they dodge but I was stubborn and wanted to beat them without changing build. My OS Tuning has maxed out mitigation and healing which probably helped a bit too. I'm sure there are many other builds that would work well too.

LOL. No wonder.

Stay at mid range, otherwise played a light weight dual rifle, sword on back storage with 1 missile launcher AC, mid range just at the rifle sweet spot allows you to dodge stuff reliably while when they get staggered you have the time and such to go in with a sword for big dmg

Ive been on this for like 2 hours. I get close but AOE laser and blade attack ruins the run.

After a full day of failure i decided to cheese this boss with dual gatling guns and needle launchers. took about 5 tries once i swapped.

Joke boss. Terrible design.

One Bazooka, 2 Songbirds and a sword on the light tank treads.

Can get it down to 50% health in the first 6 sec. Hit with bazooka at start, dodge right and turn around hit with a songbird to stagger, sword hit then songbird 2 and bazooka again.

I use Pulse Armor in phase 2 and get in as many shots as I can until it finally dies.

Dual shotguns (Zimemrmans) on a light reverse joint build with a blade in left weapon bay

I only finished her by completely changing to the heavy tank, with the dual needle launchers (nothing in game clarifies if they are specifically good against her since it doesn't say she has the same shielding as the ice worm),
and also dual shotguns.

I tried building the fastest mech earlier but the top speed I can create is like 350 and it can only boost like 6 times. It was never fast enough to evade all her laser drones that track you and she flies away every 2 seconds so you can't stay close.
This is not fun.

Reverse joint legs, dual gatling and songbird grenade launchers. Stay close, stay over top of him if you can. Pelt him with grenades to keep him staggered as much as possible. If you don't kill him quick in phase 2, you probably won't kill him at all.

You mean phase 1? If you struggle in Phase 1, you're not beating them in phase 2.

No, I mean his new attacks in phase 2 will murder you no matter how many repair kits you managed to save for it. Keeping him staggered the whole phase and killing him quick is all you can do unless you really want to learn how to dodge some of those moves he does.

Killed her twice now: once in NG, and once in NG+

The important part is to have double back-mounted "VE-60SNA - Stun Needle Launcher" ( the weapon you use for the Ice Worm fight ).

If you hit Ibis with both shots while it's staggered, you'll deal between 33% and 50% of health damage.

You'll then need a way to build up stagger: I have used both dual Shotguns ( Sweet Sixteen ) and dual Gatling guns.

Gatling guns work best IMHO because they apply constant pressure.
Go for Tank legs.

The TL;DR of the fight is simple: when it starts you immediately dodge her salve to your right, and blast with your weapons.
She will do her swing attack: you will be out of range because of your first dodge.
After the swing she stays in place for a couple of seconds: blast her with the Stun Needle.

After that point, ALWAYS rush her, ALWAYS chase her with your booster.
When she stops and hover in midair OR when you stagger her OR when you're close to her, use the Stun Needle.

Repeat for phase 2.

Use the Plasma Shield for added survivability.

Honestly you'll kill both phases within like 8 or so Stun Needle double-shots.

Good luck!
