Finding parts via scanning

The scanning tutorial mentioned: "Containers that hold AC parts"

I think i am retarded, i am in chapter 3 and have never seen a container despite scanning like an idiot

I did not search the entire map for every nook and cranny but i went into some areas that looked like hidden areas but no luck

am i just bad or are "containers holding AC parts" only come into play in later missions?

OK I honestly have no idea where to ask of this but I am in the ECM Jammers removal mission and am pinging randomly. Suddenly my scanner makes pinging noises when i look a certain direction and when i get closer it pings more like some hot cold thing. I got to the spot but found nothing. Is this cause i have what was there before or what is this? And does this happen anywhere else for you guys?

They are hidden rather well, like super well.
Use the hammerhead part, or use a guide.

funny thing is, for me I found most of the chests with my eyes, and gamer instinct from all the other games of my 40+ years of gaming, and not the scanner.
The ones I missed were like off the beating path.
I found the scanner more useful for combat log enemies, tucked away.

Lol I never even realized the scanner highlights hidden part containers. I've never been into searching for secrets in games, so I just looked all of em up.

In case You missed anything use a guide. I know it takes some fun away but then again having all the extra parts to use can add something new to the way You play. That means more fun.

Honestly - scan is useless for anything other than marking enemies.
I found more chests blindly than through scan ...
