AMD driver timeout fix
Sometimes the game will start crashing due to driver timeout issue on AMD.
To fix it just disable ray tracing (the issue is NOT related to performance).

Welcome to AMD.

How long after launch did you get yours? Are you sure you don't have the hotspot issue?

edit: 7900xtx/7950x Only have occasional driver crashes at initial launch due to max raytracing.

A better question is did you install the AMD gpu on the same windows install you previously had an Nvidia gpu ?

How about trying an uninstaller made by the actual driver manufacturer?

Better? Hardly. Amd cleanup isn't magic, doesn't work for Nvidia, and DDU is fine. OP clearly stated he's done it multiple times.

If y'all are still having this issue the fix is simple: Update your PC and your drivers. I've just had this issue the last couple days on win11 and a 6800xt. Both needed updates (win11 just got updated today)

And yet still doesn't work. I installed an Nvidia GPU, a 1070 and when I went back to AMD I had to reinstall windows to completely remove the Nvidia junk. DDU is not the one stop for troubleshooting and yes running AMD cleaner before dismissing it would be wise. But to each his own. BTW he has a 7900 which in an AMD GPU.

I found borderless window helped a lot for my 7900xt I am trying out the 23.8.2 drivers to see if they work any better. After a DDU I found that 23.8.1 actually may have been the best at the time. Anyway will update after testing 8.2

Can we get back to how you disable RT if you enabled it. I tried deleting the graphics config.xml file, still can't launch.

7900 XTX, crashed on 23.8.2 yesterday and just crashed twice in the same mission on the latest 23.9.1. No help to offer unfortunately.

5800X3D, Nitro+ 6800XT, Crosshair Hero VII, I am also having driver timeout issues. I have tried disabling MPO, getting a new set of RAM that is on my mobo's QVL, reducing RAM speed, disabling SAM and XMP, DDU'ing drivers and trying multiple versions, installing only drivers instead of full Adrenalin, installing latest chipset drivers, updating my BIOS...I don't know what more to do. Anyone got advice?

One of the most common reasons why games crash are corrupted game files after an update. Steam does it often enough so people constantly recommend to verify game files. Same advice on every steam forum.

Right click on the game in steam library -> Properties -> installed files -> Verify integrity of game files.

I would also try changing from full screen to Borderless window mode.

I play with Ray Tracing on my 7900XTX so I don't think RT is the issue. Can be but why it would work for some and not for others? Unless extra power draw or GPU or CPU overheating cause that. RT uses more GPU and CPU power but also more memory and that may indirectly casing crashes.

Started having issues myself, so I verified files. I then went in to check for Ray Tracing - it was off. Somehow Motion Blur and Depth of Field was turned on again though - so I killed those again, and didn't have any more issues. Unsure which of those 3 things fixed it though.
