Mechs feel light because it's a hallmark of the series. Some mech games make mechs slow, clunky, and unwieldy like your MWs, Battletech, etc. Some focus on maching mechs nimble and quick - often in Japanese settings. Like this one.
I’m just gonna assume bad troll.
I refunded
Uhh, did you play Elden Ring? The lock on feels the same, the way the character moves on a dime with no weight feels like Elden Ring (like just orienting yourself in diff directions, left to right etc)..I could go on. Maybe it's been awhile, but I didn't get this vibe playing earlier ACs.. maybe I'm jumping the gun a little bit, I'm still using the default starter mech they give you at the beginning. But in AC5 it felt like my mech had weight to it, so the argument about 'japanese mechs are lighter' is kinda BS. I'm hoping when I mod my mech with different legs/whatever it won't feel so weightless? Maybe someone else can comment. If it stays like that I'm tempted to refund and that sucks because I was really hyped for this game. Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxvFBn7nO3I (AC5 gameplay clip.) The mech has weight to it, you can tell. That's what I remember. It's not feeling like that right now.
Mechwarrior literally took designs from anime like Dougram and Macross
least racist gamer
So you can confirm different legs etc changes the paperweight mech feeling?
No it's just the leg that lets you hold the most weight. Until you unlock the thing that lets you go in a mission over weight that is.
Scaring me lmao, people are talking about lack of customization. How far away from the starter mech look/feel can we get I wonder.
They have their own appeal.
There is enough space in the market to have both, boring slow mech games and fast paced mech games.
