Has anyone tried Linux? Does it work? Sparse info on protondb

I have not been able to get it to work under linux, getting a unexpected error #1 on EAC on startup. I also have submitted a report on protondb that is still pending at the current moment.

#update I was able to get it to run under a live arch environment.
Ran like a dream for me until I got to Balteus. Freezes mid-fight. Mint 21.2 Xfce, Proton Experimental
I've been playing it on Arch Linux (GE-Proton8-13 & Proton Experimental) with the occasional crash, but apart from that its great.

EDIT: Seems like gamescope was causing the occasional crashes. Probably best to keep to Proton Experimental for now as well.

I was suffering from the same issue, also on Mint 21.2 using Experimental. Seems better when forcing Proton 7.0-6 - now if I could just beat him :)

update: haven't had any crashes since switching and i've made it to the end of chapter 2; maybe this will work for others too?

I have the same Balteus problem.
Played about 100min, Archlinux, Proton Experimental.
All fine so far. Using gamemode doesn't seem to make a difference.
Despite older hardware (rx580 + amd fx 8350) the performance is okay. (on high 1080p 55-60 fps most of the time, sometimes drops into the 40s)
Runs fine for me, mostly, no glitches, no graphical issues, but every 5-10 missions I get a crash, though windows users are getting that too so it's likely not a proton issue.

If you're having issues loading EAC your glibc is missing the compat patchset, proton NEEDS glibc compiled with the sysv linker hashes for EAC to work, so you likely need to fetch an update from your distro.
Runs fine for me, no crashes. proton-experiemental, radeon-vulkan, gamemode, mangohud, Gentoo, kde-plasma. Not in front of it now so can't say which kernel - but it's my default gaming setup. Haven't fought balteus on it, though.

I also have the same Balteus problem.
Using Steam Os on one machine and Arch Linux on another i have not encountered any problems yet. BUT i haven't reached Balteus yet.
it's not part of proton, it's a system lib, glibc 2.36 deprecated the old, bad hash function that's been listed as "do not use" forever but apps like EAC who's developers can't read that still use it and haven't updated to the newer function require it. 2.38 and later on most distros have a patch that patches back in the old function that's there specifically for proton/EAC support.
0 issues running AMD, Mesa, Arch, 4k120 display. Even raytracing is working if you add the launch option.

I am getting the exact same error for Easy Anticheat always getting an Unexpected error.[#1] and closing the game. If I skipped the Anticheat then the game crashed right after the main menu.

You mentioned you got it running under a live Arch environment. What was different? I'm running on Endeavour OS 6.1.47-1-lts and this is the only game I get this error on. Elden Ring, for example, runs just fine. I've tried multiple proton versions and the GE versions to no avail.
Guys, I'm now 10 hours in, just killed that spider, and now it crashes when fighting the first d rank guy in the arena.
I've read about multiple people having crash issues, has someone found some sort of fix to that?
