not enough like dark souls, a missed opportunity
As a massive Dark Souls enthusiast, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment with the direction Armored Core 6 seems to be taking. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand that Armored Core has its own unique identity and gameplay mechanics that set it apart from the Souls series, but I can't shake off the feeling that it's missing that distinctive "Dark Souls" vibe that we've all come to love.

One of the defining features of the Dark Souls franchise is its dark and foreboding atmosphere. From the crumbling architectures to the eerie landscapes, the Souls games have an uncanny ability to immerse players in a world that's both hauntingly beautiful and deeply unsettling. This atmosphere is carefully crafted to contribute to the overall experience of facing overwhelming odds and testing one's determination in the face of despair. It's an integral part of what makes the Souls games so unforgettable.

So, when I looked at the previews and gameplay footage of Armored Core 6, I couldn't help but notice that it seems to lack that particular atmosphere. The environments showcased appear to be more futuristic and mechanical, which, while fitting for the Armored Core universe, might not resonate with fans who've grown fond of the gloomy and oppressive worlds of Dark Souls. It's almost as if the developers missed a golden opportunity to merge the gritty and dark ambiance of Dark Souls with the robotic combat of Armored Core.

Additionally, the narrative depth of the Dark Souls series is something that keeps drawing me back in. The cryptic storytelling, the hidden lore waiting to be uncovered, and the interconnectedness of the world all contribute to an unparalleled sense of discovery. While Armored Core games have their own lore and backstory, there's a certain allure in the mystery of the Souls games that I don't feel in the Armored Core universe.

Of course, it's important to note that these are two distinct franchises with their own creative intentions. Armored Core 6 has its own strengths and unique features that cater to fans of mech combat and customization. And I genuinely hope that the game will excel in those aspects. However, as someone who holds Dark Souls in high regard, it's difficult not to yearn for a bit of that "Dark Souls" essence to be infused into other gaming experiences.

What are your thoughts on this, especially if you're also a Dark Souls fan? Do you see potential for Armored Core 6 to capture some of that Dark Souls magic, or do you think it's better for each franchise to maintain its unique identity? Let's discuss!

The real Armored Core 6 was the Dark Souls we made along the way

Is this supposed to be satire? Like how journalists call everything "the Dark Souls of X"?
Your nickname would certainly make one believe you thrive on the misery of others.

No soap stone in the game.
How will I make my friends beat the boss for me?

Translation: I claim to understand it's not dark souls but I don't understand why it's not dark souls.

I love Dark Souls. I'm also sick of everything trying to be a 'dark souls like'.

Keep Dark Souls out of my Armored Core game please. I've waited years for a new AC, last thing I want is Dark Souls with a mech skin on top.

I'd rather just also have a new Dark Souls.

ok...the only thing this has in common with dark souls is Fromsoft and brutal bosses. this is the series from came out with YEARS before the soulsverse, i mean ♥♥♥♥ the first game was on ps1 ffs. if your wanting a souls like experience my dude you bought the wrong game.

and not EVERY game these days has to have a splash of souls in it....hell most games these days need to realise that as long as they do a couple of things well a game can be amazing, look at all those indie games..half of them have pixel graphics to boot proving that graphics are also not a must. instead they gotta grab from this and grab from that. ♥♥♥♥ ark 2 is claming its gonna have stuff for like 30 ****ing games

Why would a game that has absolutely nothing to do with Dark Souls need to have the "distinctive" vibe of Dark Souls. Every time you eat some chicken do you complain it lacks a distinctive flavor of shrimp? It makes so little sense. Stop the cap.

Wow. It's almost like Dark Souls isn't in the title. Amazing.
