Not a Souls Game...

So I love mechs, I love Souls, and I loved the idea of a Sci-fi Souls with robots...

But holy cow is that not what this game is at all.

No, it isn't open world. It's sortie-mission zones. (Which have boundaries)

Nothing about this feels like a From-Software game, infact this feels like a Mech indi game I saw a few months ago..

This game feels like a AAA version of Mass Builder an indi game from like 2020.

To be clear, I'm not saying the game is bad, I was just lead to believe that it was going to play more like a souls game based on all the trailers, videos, and reviews I had seen.

Also to be clear, this is my first AC game, my first From-Software game was Souls I...as they haven't really made an Armored Core game in over 10 years...

I think AC 5 was in like 2012? But seeing as it was the 5th in the series I think I chose Souls 1 instead.

That all being said, I'm enjoying it, I just kinda was expecting a Souls game, this might be my mistake, but frankly I feel that all the Youtubers, and reviewers saying "It's going to be Armored Core Dark Souls" kinda might have been to blame.

Gotta love all the ass-hats in here saying "No duh, it's called Armored Core not Dark Souls" who are literally ignoring all the reviewers and people who were like "This is going to be a mix of Dark Souls mechanics and AC's Visuals"

But yeah nah lets ignore all that.

who told you this would be an open world souls like? Did you check out their overview trailer or like any reviews before you bought the game?

All past Armored Core games were mission based with no open world. They said that formula wouldn't change. Which honestly I don't mind. While I loved Elden Ring, I wasn't sure I wanted to do open world Armored Core just yet.

This is literally one of the original From-Software games.
And they've said from the START it wasn't going to be a Souls game.
If you came in thinking it was, then you weren't paying attention.

This game is nice compared to some of the older AC games to lol they could be brutal back when if you died your funds were depleted for repair and if you ran dry game over had to restart the whole game haha
