I noticed some people like this track but it still feels like something you would listen to while falling asleep while getting high. This is not something I would play as an action theme, all the music is just slow, and depressing. It has some hints of being Armored Core but it's just bland and boring. I wouldn't even call the soundtrack music, it's more like an ambiance track used for meditation, not a high adrenaline action game. I can't understand why they would say they were returning to their roots only to take such a left turn when concerning the music. I guess it's my fault for believing the marketing.

It's similar to synthwave except all the harmonies are warped and pseudo-atonal.

AC6 sci-fi atmosphere feels a little darker to me compared to the previous games i've played in this series.

i prefer the AC6 music as a whole over other games, but the best tracks imo from gen 4 and 5 stand out in the franchise. Also I hate threads/discussions about musical tastes cause it starts becoming a bunch of people fart sniffing. o7 o/

I'm not really that blown away by AC 6 FoR musical score either. There are like 1 or 2 good tunes but even they are forgettable.

I could be a lil unfair I grew up on Ace Combat and that stuff.

Thematic Orchestral stuff is always a safe pick for these types of games. And they could of easily implemented a dark militaristic synthy theme tailored for AC.

AC 6 stuff and this could be just how AC has always been the music just seems to be backseat. Very one dimensional it doesn't really tell you a story or convey a situation well. There are a few exceptions though but that isn't good enough imo.

Oh yeah agreed. I know what Fromsoft is capable of getting done. Which is a shame indeed. AND im not hating on the composer that did AC 6 FoR OST. I think the devs didn't do their homework and didn't take the time to review the finished product. Because some of the songs that would be good just need some clean ups and tweaks. For example the Rusty OST endgame mission with the vocals. The vocals were decent but everything else was off.

Like everything in the game, the music starts to massively pick up in Chapter 3.

Then by the end, I'm starting a sing along.

By far the most rock-y soundtrack that From has done since 10 years of missing Armored Core, we need more of this.

Putting aside the fact that Stargazer is the only thing in the ost that really felt like an Armored Core song to me, I just think most of the OST is really unmemorable. The only ones that stood out to me were Contact With You, Steel Haze (Rusted Pride), and Stargazer. Everything else just kinda blended together for me

I don't understand anything from the complains, I really enjoyed Steel Haze (specially Rusted Pride version, probably the best song in the game) ,Rough and Decent , Echoes of the Coral, Cries of the Coral, Contact With You, The Man Who Burned it All. And pretty much any of the "danger" or intense songs had me pretty pumped on the game's fights and completely engaged.

For me it felt 100% memorable and I even listen to the songs on youtube very often. I did have tho, to crank the volume up from the music because the sound effects are also sometimes hindering the music slightly, but fortunately it is mastered properly and is very enjoyable with headphones.

If that's your benchmark on what Armored Core is supposed to sound like then it seems like you didn't play anything before Gen IV, which is quite an anomaly in the series for its goofy soundtracks. Thank God FromSoftware ignored you people and went for something better.

nah I've played older gens too. I called out stargazer because I played 4A most recently before playing 6 (I don't think the ost for 6 fits in with older gens either). I really wouldn't call 6's music "something better" since a lot of the tracks are more ambient and most of the ones that aren't just feel too "safe" I guess, not really sure how else to explain why I dislike them tbh

Also I'm so sorry for liking gen 4 music I just have really good and correct opinions, it's not my fault!
