If this song didn't give you chills on that mission, idk what to say.
Is that you 621?
Arye final track, final hangar track, the beats in the Stop the Hackers mission.
Much more electro beats and distinctly Armored Core.
I notice none of the AC4A music made it into this thread. The piano ensembles and J-Buttrock had some charm to it.
Based on the OP though, it just sounds like you miss the old 90s techno. And I don't mean the general broad strokes term techno but actual house techno like Memory Shape Alloys sounds like.
AC6 is a lot more terminator in the 80s feel to it and even adapts the synthwave feel. It's more a movie OST and it sounds great. imo for a new fanbase and more contemporary taste... the old music would actually be a huge detriment to the sales and future of the franchise. I'm sorry, objectively better or not, it's not everyone's taste. And no matter how good the track is, some dude is probably blasting Soundcloud rappers while talking trash on facetime on edibles while playing this game without giving it a second thought.
The music is serviceable and as someone who is aspiring to be in development, they made the safer choice. Soon AC6 1.x or AC7 will have all the callbacks you want once the demographics have been set, but until then, you'll just have to mod it in.
(Steel Haze is good emotion and Analysis always got me hyped for a fight tho)
edit: also stargazer, but thats in the credits
this is the only track that comes close to feeling like an armored core track. it's a really good one but everything else is really uhhh..... lame?
Haha your msg sounds like it's a troll because you're saying you have to beat the game twice just to get a decent tune lol but one thing that has been constant in ANY AC game good or bad is that at the very least the hangar theme was catchy and gets you in the mood. AC6 couldn't even be arsed to have a hangar theme besides that depressing hum and background noise that I can't even call music. I try to be open minded but this is just ridiculous.
I noticed some people like this track but it still feels like something you would listen to while falling asleep while getting high. This is not something I would play as an action theme, all the music is just slow, and depressing. It has some hints of being Armored Core but it's just bland and boring. I wouldn't even call the soundtrack music, it's more like an ambiance track used for meditation, not a high adrenaline action game. I can't understand why they would say they were returning to their roots only to take such a left turn when concerning the music. I guess it's my fault for believing the marketing.
That's the only real issue. If this was an atmospheric, slow paced adventure or RPG game in a sci-fi setting the music would be perfect but for a game like this it doesn't really fit. The only time i paid attention to the music is on those missions when you are exploring around and everything is quiet, but it never lasts even on those.
