Plus, I don't even think this series was "known" for it's good soundtrack, unless you really google Armored Core and Soundtrack, most people won't even mention.

Some reviews might, since it's their job to comment on it, but, it's definitely not a major talking point, the game I hear people talking about the OST the most was 4A.

Maybe OP reeeeaaallly enjoyed the OST of the previous games, or he started to listen to compilations before AC6 and got salty it's a different kind of music.

But, of all things AC, the music, it's one of the least known things about the franchise in my opinion

Well, you can say the same to the game itself. AC was not 'known' for a good game neither. The score had been average at best. The mainstream outside of Japan barely knew about its existence. It was just revered by niche fans until VI arrived after Fromsoft got popular.

And among those fans there was a portion of players had concerns in the music. FreQuency, the inner band of Fromsoft, had own fans liked the style. Obviously these are not so happy about the change in VI.

Outside of Steel Haze/Rusted Pride, VI soundtracks are not getting particular receptions from the community afis. It just works as ambience blending to the game. That's all. I don't think I will remember these tracks.

that sounds terrible and I'm so glad AC6 took the OST in a different direction instead of doubling down on this or the orchestra chanting upbeat JRPG type music from the later games that people in this thread keep praising for some reason. The vibe of AC6 does not match with any of this crap at all.

lol why someone brought Evergreen theme here. That song is wacky as hell. It was a meme song but got a cult around that in-game faction. Some vets purely hate 5 gen because of Evergreen and that song's existence xD

God, this series aged so well. A kind of bliss watching this series has made so far.

I hated AC5 and this song but at least they were not afraid to try new things. Armored Core developed an identity crisis after the PS2 era, instead of doing what they always did, they just changed the game to whatever was popular at the time. It's a shame that they have done the same thing again and never learned their lesson.
