STEAM Version of AC6 has Frame rate issues?

flawless for me 1440p maxed out but without ray tracing at 120fps stable. 5600x, 32GB ram and 4070

I was literally about to come ask if it was chugging for anyone else. After a perfect day 1 its suddenly dropping frames like crazy in menus which is freaking weird after no issues before.

I think it's an Intel CPU issue,

On my RTX3090ti and 5800x my frame time is completely fluid, whether I run it at 120fps 21:9 1080p, or upscale to 4k 16:9 which runs at around 90fps. Even with DSR enabled upscaling no stutters, which is 4k 21:9.

If it was going to stutter it would of when I did the upscale or at least as I've seen in other cases my 1080p performance would not be 120fps, and my 4k performance would be in the 50s.


I was running older Nvidia drivers when I first started playing, and then updated them to latest earlier. No problem with either driver, game is still a blurry mess sometimes 😂

I have a i5 8600k and rtx 3060Ti and I experience frequent FPS drops to 40s when there is action on the screen. So I don't think you have stable 60 fps.

I have a 2060, and a ryzen7 4700x, I run it on 1080p at high with a stable 90fps cap.

No issues whatsoever on 5600x 32GB 3200 RAM and 3080 10GB, at UW 1440. Normal fluctuations in the 100-120fps range but no choppiness whatsoever. Outside of missions it runs slower because I have RT maxed but no choppiness there either. After Elden Ring I was pretty guarded with From performance on PC but aside from them still needing major improvement with option menus (chromatic aberration AAAAAAAH MY EYES, make it STOP) I'm shocked to say I have no complaints whatsoever in the performance department.

Try this:

1. Install Rivatuner and set the FPS limit in it to 60 or 120, depending on what your PC can handle running this game. I run it at 4k and set Rivatuner to 60fps limit.

2. Go into your motherboard's BIOS and disable all of the EIST/C-steps/C1E options. These settings make your CPU clock (frequency) fluctuate and causes frame drops & stutters for a lot of people in a bunch of games.

Now run the game and see if things improve.

The game runs fine for me. No performance issues. I have an i5-13600k + RTX 3070.

I am getting the same with an RTX4080, which will not draw more than 100 watts in the game at 100% utility. The problem actually persists then in all other aplications, with the only solution being to reinstall the driver. However, opening AC6 again, will re-introduce the problem, and I'm back to 40fps at 1080p and have to reinstall the driver, again. I've an i911000k, 64GB RAM, a 4080, and an 850w Corsair PSU, no over clocking on anything. No issues with any other games.

no issues at all, 120 fps at 1440p, all maxed. 6900xt, and 5950x

I would suggest maybe drivers...As I'm not seeing many with AMD cards having this issue but I've seen countless posts with Nvidia. (not a hate thing before anyone goes nuts) maybe just a driver issue.

I'm running a Ryzen 7 5800X with a Radeon RX 6700 XT and I'm not having any issues with low fps. Could be bad luck on your part or to much stuff running in the back ground. It could also just be a problem with NVIDIA or Intel.

It ain't just AMD. I've got a 3070 Ti and a i7-7700k, and I'm having tons of stuttering too, independent of graphics settings. It was fine for the first couple missions, but now it's nigh unplayable.

i have amd ryzden 9 5900 with a 3080 gpu and im struggling to run the thing even on low settings 1440p, while people mostly say its a lot better then elden ring, which i didn't have any problems with. I tweaked a bit with the cpu settings since a lot of people said that was the bottleneck, but now my cpu load is around 50% no issues while my GPU keeps spiking to 100% which slow down the game rapidly and drops fps. I already installed the newest drivers. Every few seconds. And this all happens in the first tutorial mission when i get into the city.
3080 should be enough though right?

For everyone having the stutter, how many cores does your CPU have? I can run the game at 120fps with my 3080ti and i7 9700K (OC'd) with a stable framerate albeit a few drops during heavy scenes, but I notice that on Core 0 of my CPU it runs at about 90-95% usage while the other 7 cores run at about 45-50%. For the ones stuttering, I wonder if it's because of your Core 0 being the bottleneck due to bad coding? I used to have the same thing happen when I played Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (not the Remaster) back in the day.
