Think this game works better with controller or M&K?
Also why is it sometimes called a "gamepad"?

Considering the ENTIRE series was MADE with a controller as first priority, it's a safe bet that controller is the preferred way to play.

You can't do the AC Grip on a mouse, so clearly a controller is superior.

"Gamepad" is a very retro term from the early days of gaming that has carried on through the ages.

Likely controller, its called a gamepad as thats the type of controller it is, joysticks and other devices are also under the control title

It works better with the controller you are more familiar with. Keyboard and mouse will always have more potential, but controller is easier to master.

Mouse and keyboard is superior in anything that requires precision.

If it follows previous titles, controller with analog triggers will allow you to fine control your boosts. Second stagíng and what not. If those features are in that is.

Outside of blatant cheating assists.

Controller, without a doubt.

Also it's because the term "controller" is a bit generic and could define a number of things even beyond what you use to play games with, where the term "gamepad" is unmistakably a modern game controller.

In game dev particularly, a "controller" more often refers to the interface that controls a pawn (player character, NPC, vehicle, etc), so gamepad is a more apt descriptor for the input device.

Cool, but aim assist exists regardless of the hardware you're using to play the game. Kb&m is naturally more accurate.

Nah, there's a reason aim assist isn't given to Keyboard and Mouse players.

True, but some gamers have this weird compulsion to play the game themselves rather than letting the game play itself.
