Basically says the game is a 10/10 for him even as his introduction to the series, but that it won't click as much for some reviewers and he predicted IGN would give it an 8/10 (which they did). Unique unlockables and missions in NG+ and NG++.

You can almost always tell if a game is going to be bad, average,or above average, without reviews. Also, genre preference is different for everyone. We all percieve things differently.

Reviews are not necessary in the slightest. Especially when knowing that platforms like IGN and PCgamer are not real and run by industry insiders to either sell or break products and companies.

Demonstrates that someone with only a background in Soulsborne games will love this as long as they keep their expectations in check. Modern FromSoft doesn't miss, so haters gonna have to find something else to latch on to.

Reviewers always try to milk the hype for clicks.

It's a vicious cycle. Game is announced. Streamers and reviewers start acting like the game is the second coming of Christ or something to draw people in to watch their crap, people think there must be something special about the game because of all the buzz they see on the internet, then they play the game and it turns out it's just a game. A good game perhaps, even a great one, but still a game with its pros and cons and all that.

Don't let the hype control you, just form your own opinions.

My prediction is that this game will just be another typical AC with a few of the tricks since FromSoft aren't the same company anymore. The best case scenario for me would be if this turns out to be like Sekiro. Smaller but perfect within the scope of its mechanics. Worst case is it will be just another standard entry in the series, which isn't bad either. FromSoft rarely made a bad game even when they are a niche company and it's unlikely they'll start now.

And that was years ago? I can believe he screwed up editing the start for that run to be honest. Setups for esoteric challenge runs can just be the worst in DS1. Looking at you, dragon claws only! X.x
