Elden Ring did preload the day before launch as well. Not really a source, but it’s plausible to think FromSoft will be consistent at least.

As long as Steam and XBox are not mentioned, this information is not trustworthy to me.

Don't get me wrong. I too am inclined to pre-download the game.
However, if Steam allows pre-downloads, there will always be idiots who will analyze, hack, play and spoil the game before it's released.
I'm not going to allow such idiots, and I'm sure the development team is aware of it.

game releases on pc in a bit over 50 hours, elden ring got pre-load 48 hours before it came out, give it 3 hours and if no pre-load i would give up hope on it

And yet I have already pre-loaded starfield on Game Pass, all 116GB of it and it is not out till the 6th! Pre Load needs to be soon I hope.
