Obviously.
Before they were pretty much niche in almost every regard and game release. TBH i kinda like that AC now gets the spotlight it, in my mind, deserves.
because the people who liked demon's souls and dark souls and bloodborne and sekiro and elden ring see "from soft" in the credits and they're excited about it
because there's kind of a deficit of interesting looking mech games on the market that aren't just "mechs as set dressing for entirely different mechanics" or "mechs to sell microtransactions" and people are excited about something that isn't either of those
because it looks interesting in general and despite what some people say having multiple trailers at big events is indeed marketing, and people were excited about them
oh right troll answers too, um, gimme a moment
because if they bring back armored core they might bring back king's field and people in the nursing homes are excited about it
Examples :
Activision with call of duty after PS2.
Rockstars : Well, the list is long but 4 and 5 amongst others.
God of War (last two games, last being 0/10 narrative before arrival).
Less of a huge problems :
Final Fantasy 11; 13-2; 13-3 ; 15 and 16.
Silent Hill homecoming.
Multiple Pokemon games.
Witcher 3.
Resident Evil 5; 6; 7; 8 (if you don't take third person option added a while after release).
Dragon Age 2 and 3.
Borderlands 3.
Fallout 4 and the most recent turd I forgot the title of (they kind of made it better from what I heard but I was in and out within an hour).
...and many more.
It's past 3am and I'm tired af so I'll stop at these few examples.
It's finally on platform you own.
Personally I played armored core demo on my cousins Playstation. Never owned one so couldn't play any of the armored core games. Until Armored core 4 when the series landed on the Xbox 360. Which point on I could enjoy the titles, but the series was still grounded to consoles only. Now it's relatively unrestricted for anyone to gain access to the game.
Thats not accurate. Elden Ring's lead developer was Hidetaka Miyazaki. AC 6 development was lead by Masaru Yamamoto. Miyazaki stated he was "extremely jealous" of the team that got to work on Armored Core in an interview with IGN.
