Just remember that manual aim can't cheat around effective range limits, and yes this is a "Parts quality throttles your turn/aim speeds" style series. Though as the first official PC port for the AC series, who knows if we get some jank super mouse aim, or people crying "Why can't I literally cheat with mouse aim!?"
Could be more useful on missions than PvP. PvP there are few sitting duck idiots. But manual aim might let you bring a short range type FCS while still being allowed to shoot things with a sniper rifle's full range by eyeballing it on a slow mission target.
The default is a soft lock.
You can turn-on hard lock.
And there is a manual aim module.
Early era Rocket launchers were my good friend, rewarding me for loving them whenever I was in a mission that needed a bio sensor but I was too stupid to have equipped one.
But you don't sound like some kind of build optimization genius by admitting that. I am more "This idiot that manages to sink with hover legs... killed Zinaida?!"
Why am I like this? In ninja gaiden remake. I brick walled for an hour on the tutorial 'guy on horseback', and thought Alma was a cool fight and was very surprised to start seeing her on 'hardest boss of all time' lists.
So if you're unsure, might be better to wait til the release.
There is also a manual aiming mode, which will increase accuracy but currently no one knows how it works.
So no, this is not an FPS game. Don't think of Doom, think more of ZoE or Ace Combat.
I hope they will release a demo version of the game, it would be best to get a feeling on how it's going to play, sadly I have not played Ace Combat (and the other game, ZoE, I don't even know what that is, haha, sorry!), but I understand that you mean it's going to be more like flight combat games. Sounds interesting for sure!
There's already a bunch of gameplay videos on Youtube, very detailed.
Other game is Zone of the Enders, another super fast-paced mecha action game:
