Bad Steam Cloud Sync

I'm pointing out a design flaw that I have seen fixed else where. You sync steam cloud with older save versions. This results in overwriting save files with older versions of themselves on different devices. This is an unacceptable programming design flaw. You need to date check each save file, and the progress of the save file. My 3rd save file lost 10 hours of progress due to this cloud state programming oversight.

Hey RabidKitten - The data loss caused by the game is a rare issue we're currently working on diagnosing. I can tell you it almost certainly has nothing to do with the Steam Cloud, and that your game simply failed to save in the first place. Steam does their own time-stamping & comparison of save files specifically so that devs don't need to manage this themselves, and this process occurs while the application is closed, so I highly doubt it's the fault of the cloud sync.
