Why won't this game just eeeend already?
I am usually not somebody who wants games to end.
But my goodness does this game overstay it's welcome and put another area, another boss, another area, another final boss and another final boss and another final boss on there.

Genuinely annoying and it actually highlights the (especially mechanical) problems the game had until now, but were not really that annoying, since it was really charming and actually changed things up quite a bit.

The game just not wanting to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ end has completely soured my experience for it.

Have to agree. I got the DS helmet just to show where I am and im just groaning at every new part that unveils itself this point.

I also agree. To me, everything after that fight on the pinball table felt like a glorified boss rush. It wasn't so bad in the first area with the giant crabs, but it kept getting worse and worse.
For me its just felt out of left field, The whole plot was based on a map on a cereal box. Yet the story makes it out that its real. Aesthetically its cool but its so odd pacing wise along with the 3 back to back bosses with 2 phases each.
How short do you want it? Game really didn't feel that long to me. I have 19.6 hours and 100% everything with no guides/looking stuff up. Some of which that time was me showing off the game to a friend. It really isn't that long
That's how I felt. But after taking it all in I'm happy it went on. The game had story beats it really needed to hit still. But I also was still really expecting the game to end due to taking a really long time on the levels before it.

I agree, as I feel like the game ended up really messing up pacing in the last part, especially with the frequency of bosses and (more) linear parts.
It didn't feel that long , felt just "RIGHT" . By endgame your build should be good enough to beat these bosses in 2-4 tries. If you are struggling to deal dmg , get those grapple hooks and the perk that lets you reel into enemies for dmg for free damage (you can spam this for free dps)

The issue wasn't the difficulty or amount of attempts.

You can literally face tank everything with the leech stow away, claw hammer and shell that raises damage which if you don’t know seems to increase the amount you leech from enemies. Combined with the tentacle aspiration maxed you are unkillable minus one boss which sucks more then anything.

That is wild because I had the exact opposite experience.I kept getting worried it was going to end and was glad it kept going. I really loved the game and found it to be a wonderful homage to the Souls games.

No.
I dont think the game overall was to long (if anything it's short) but it did get weak towards the end in some ways. Dark deep sea area did overstay it's welcome and was more frustrating then anything, and the final two bosses of the game kind of sucked. The white city level was really cool though. Great game overall though, the midgame is just it's strongest point.
