*Another Crab's Treasure*'s Engine, Unity, Is Rather Unoptimized
While playing it on its lowest graphical presets on my Acer Nitro 5 (2020) laptop that has an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, and 16 GB of Ram, my GPU's usage fluctuates between 91% - 100%, and my GPU's and CPU's temperatures are absurdly high for how demanding this game is not.

Prior to tinkering around with some system settings, said temperatures were as high as ~83 degrees Celsius and ~68 degrees Celsius, respectively. Afterward, they're still as high as 65 degrees Celsius and ~66 degrees Celsius. This all has me reconsidering if I'm comfortable with playing Another Crab's Treasure.

2/11/2025 Update: After playing another game that's made with Unity, my GPU's usage percentages and its and my CPU's temperatures were similar to when I was playing Another Crab's Treasure. As such, the original title of this post has been changed to, "*Another Crab's Treasure*'s Engine, Unity, Is Rather Unoptimized." Now, I am left with the question of, "Can this issue be resolved from a user's end of things?"

As a former laptop user, there are three things that helped me lower my temps in general gaming scenarios when I still used mine.

First was to take the back panel off and run through it with either an electric air duster or a can of compressed air. This helped to remove most of the dust buildup in the system. Make sure to keep a finger on the fans as you don't want the motors in them to burn out. Lots of people are surprised at how much this can do.

Next, I'd recommend looking up a video on how to reapply thermal paste and thermal pads and take care of that. It's a bit intimidating at first, but totally worth it.

Lastly, I would highly recommend getting a laptop cooling pad. If you do end up going this route, the absolute best option that I can think of is probably the IETS GT500. That thing alone was able to keep my dying, overheating laptop alive for a whole extra year.

Aside from those, my best recommendation would be to switch to a desktop if at all possible. However, given the current state of the computer parts market, I would say to hold off on that.
better than UE4 or 5

Considering Unreal Engine 4 and 5 do not have these problems, at least for me, no, it's not.
I have a laptop with a 1050 ti and it can run this game at a locked 720p 30 fps. UE4/5 games simply don't run

Dunno why our experiences are so different.
