Where is Chitan after the meeting after Heikia Intimidation Crab? She says to meet her if you want to follow the true path or something and will be in the village ahead. The only village I know of is the Curdled Village and I've turned that place upside down and of course at the end it just dumps you out at the boss arena again.

There are two shortcuts I can see, one in the Vale on the upper platforms (which I never found a way up too, wondered if that required a later traversal method) and one on the path to the Curdled Village (which looks like it leads to the same place, just from the other direction) but I can't get to either.

Am I missing something or is this a place you return too later with improved traversal mechanics?

I don't remember where Chitan shows up next specifically, but there is another boss past the intimidation crab. Try going straight to the back of the "boat" arena iirc.

As to where you need to go, I really don't remember... But Flotsam vale is probably next, after returning to the town with the Map piece.

Just as an aside do either of you know about the two shortcuts that lead into the lower east side of the map that I mentioned. Or how you get to the huts up in the trees in the main map. Am I missing something obvious or is that also something that will just reveal itself as I continue?

If I understand what you mean about the shortcuts, you need an ability from a later boss. Anything with a metal crab statue nearby is the same. To get up to those huts, just keep progressing and you can backtrack once you make your way a little further up the cliff I believe.
