what's your favorite shell?
surprised no one's made this post already, there's always a 'favorite X' post in any game's discussions
but i'm rather curious, so i may as well make it myself!
personally, mine was the disco ball until i found the dump truck- twinkle is great, but the rolling animation of the dump truck is just too good i love it so much
and 230 shell health is pretty damn nice as well, especially with kintsugi

first, the probiotic because of its heal skill and high hp
second The coconut shell because of how it looks and i spam its skill for travel purpose instead of attacking.

Yoccult for the regen.
Scrub Aggie has tons of HP, while still being agile.
Spirit Conch. It looks amazing and its stats are really good when you upgrade it all the way, and you can also summon it whenever you want.

I used the valve for a while because of its stats but I hate how it looks, so I quickly gravitated towards the spirit conch when I unlocked it.

For most of my playthrough especially on bosses I had 0 business fighting cause I kinda sequence broke the game due to my immense brickheadedness at not moving on until i take down whatever level / boss is currently in front of me, the thimble carried me hard. That invincible skill + parry timing + perfect dodging for iframe counters made it so much easier to learn boss attack patterns whilst constantly tanking.
amongus, its medium so good defense and mobility, attack buffs, solid durability, early game insurance for a good price, and comedy, of course!

I used the Thimble most of the game. Thing was incredibly OP. I'm sure there were better shells with the same ability but I'm a man of habit.

Unironically Egg Shell. It's piss at blocking, won't offer much passive protection, and has a moderate risk of breaking anyway if you just face-tank too hard. All those negatives being said, it's genuinely a pretty good shell for glass cannon adaptation builds. It gives +10 MSG, which is as good as having an extra Siphonophore+, and comes with light rolls! In the overworld, I often found it made the difference between two shotting enemies and one shotting them to maintain full umami charges with Circle of Life. Fortify was also a nice get out of jail card for sticky situations as the thimble lovers can attest.
Honorable mention goes to Party Hat / Party Popper for having a very strong shell spell attack, light rolls, and a (weaker) MSG buff of their own.

Since I played mostly by dodging and parrying, I usually use Shot Glass for it's light weight and attack up, then to Champagne Flute. I do switch with Shotgun Shell when I found 1, explode in a cluster of enemy, and switch back to Shot Glass. For looks, I like the Knight's Helmet, pain in the ass to get, but cool and great for defensive battle!
since i haven't gotten past slack tide yet and don't want to use the gun, the can has to be my favorite
the solo cup lol. I never use the shell ability and it has high def and hp for a small shell
for early game the tin can is surprisingly amazing since the electric effect seems to interrupt any enemy in the game. Valve, coconut, and garbage truck are all crazy good. But the hidden knight helmet at the very end is the best in the game, of course

Mason Jar with 2 Barnacles gives 100% damage reduction. With 30 Resistance the jar is also nearly invulnerable. The only thing that can hurt me without stealing my shell outright so far was the Coalition, those electric hammer crabs and Unfathomable angler fish.
