Bugged Endgame

I got a but where I seemingly died and killed Praya Dubia at the same time as I died. When I respawned the current was there, but approaching triggered the boss cutscene. During the fight I got a point-of-no-return popup which skipped to the post-flight cutscene with Firth and I was able to play the full final fight and endgame through the credits. However post-credits when I select continue in the main menu, it starts me outside the Praya Dubia fight, which triggers again when I approach, even though the moon snail shell is there. Is my save just broken and I can never play the rest of the game?

Think that is by design. Was expecting some NG....
I just started over to spec differently.

I know it’s by design that it pops you back there, but don’t think the boss fight is supposed to keep triggering
