How to remove the shell from the weapon ?

how to remove the shell from the weapon ?
not the replacement with the shell that we already wear, but just removing the shell from the weapon to just have the bare weapon.

I don't think you can remove it directly from the weapon. but as previously said, you can swap it with your currently equipped shell (down on d-pad), then you can unequip it (holding triangle/Y button), then press down on the d-pad again to put your originally equipped shell on your back again
