Blue Fire meter
Does the game ever explain to me what the blue fire meter that shows up during this first boss fight? It happens after he does the scare ability but not when I get fully frightened (can't attack)

Because it's a status effect that builds up until you're frightened; status buildup is reduced by your resistance rating and a few different stowaways. It's like that so you can roll away to avoid it, same as status effects in the souls games.

okay it seems to be the frighten feature but why would it be a bar that can fill up partially? Why not just have a binary scared or not scared status

Because it's a status effect that builds up until you're frightened; status buildup is reduced by your resistance rating and a few different stowaways. It's like that so you can roll away to avoid it, same as status effects in the souls games.
