Reef edge spots

I noticed some platforms in the reef section before the city are out of reach with enemies on top of them. Without giving me any spoilers (im currently in between sands section), is it a "come back to this area later for a new route" type of part of the map or is there an actual way to get up onto some of them? Couldn't figure it out myself so I'm asking here xd

There's a section where you're climbing up some platforms before making your way across a coral and two flip flops, There's a crab on one of them too. You can see a giant sign in the back (i think its a wrong way sign) and there are some platforms with enemies on it though I haven't seen any way to get there. Is it just an elaborate set piece or an actual platform?
