While Peppino and the Noise have major differences in their play styles and abilities (which makes for a reason to be able to switch freely), the Dynamites both play the exact same, to my knowledge. It wouldn't really make as much sense to switch between those two mid-level, as mechanically you'd just be switching from Anton... back to Anton.
As for the option of just having the other Dynamite follow your movements, that's also why in-game it's categorized as a Toy - the same category as the ones you can buy from Brulo's shop. It's just a thing that exists for the fun factor.
I do see where you're coming from, though. The first point could be reason enough precisely TO be able to make that switch, in Arcade Mode at the very least.
We'll see if Summit decies to do anything regarding a multiplayer mode. The customization is already there.
I was talking about the second part of the post - switching characters on the fly in singleplayer.
I can barely see Anton when playing, everything shakes, everything explodes, so many casino coins...
Slingshots into clutch combos. even if the slower player is doing perfect clutches, the 1st guy is still going vastly quicker due to slingshots.
Not everything needs to be multiplayer in this modern age.
