I took a 9 hour class on copyright, if it was as simple as you made it out to be we would be living in a much more dystopian world. Like, idk, if instead of pokemon getting a patent on creature collectors that happen to be caught using balls, they got complete control over the entire rpg genre.
no offense but you obviously don't know what you're talking about. i understand you're trying to help but you are just spreading misinformation. please inform yourself more on this kind of topic before trying to contribute.
yeah you’re drunk
i am indeed drunk but i actually do copyright / IT stuff for a living so i think i know more than someone who went through a "9 hour class" lol. they are very obviously using some sounds in this game they are not allowed to and they should make sure to replace them asap. it's the same process pizza tower went through, except pizza tower actually did replace its sounds (which is why the demos had very different sounds)
There is a real chance that they just forgot about copyright, but I like to believe the devs have more common sense and logically believe the conversation would eventually come up, of which they would likely find a workaround instead of just allowing a violation to exist in their game.
And again, everything I am saying is theoretical, but so is everything you are saying, neither of us know the interworkings of their situation in regards to copyright, fair use, or public domain.
If you do IT and copyright for a living you should know that it isn’t a black and white law, and that the grey area isn’t all too well defined, leading to countless debates and law suits regarding the issue.
the kinds of sounds that are selectively used here are some very classic cartoon sounds aswell as sounds from oldschool video games. tracking down and contacting and potentially paying a huge amount of cash just to use these sounds would be A LOT of effort. i highly doubt they went through all that.
also, it is actually very black and white, if you take the actual laws into account. also when you check with these kinds of game companies these sounds were taken from, they do often have resource guidelines online you can read for yourself, where they explicitly state that you can not use singular resources from their products UNLESS you associate them with their product and explicity label them as fan art and do not charge any money in your product that is using this resource.
Although, if you wouldn’t mind posting some of those resource guidelines just so I can read some that would be nice.

I think they're the hammer bounce sound effects. One is also used for the menus in Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
You're drunk. Sit down.
The devs own a license to use those sounds. These sounds come from Hanna-Barbera sound effect packages. Stating the game is "very obviously using some sounds in this game they are not allowed to" is really misguided.
i know theres certain classic cartoon sounds you can easily license since they're a part of bigger packages - but some of the sounds in here i would reaaallly question if they got the license for them since i've only ever heard them in singular game titles and not anywhere else. if they were from packages, there would be more of an overlap
no i know about those, i was more on about sounds that i've only ever heard in singular games, there's some stuff in here from rayman, crash bandicoot - where i'm really unsure if they're stock sounds or if they were specifically made for those games because I've NEVER heard them anywhere else.
